  1. Nothing you can do about injuries and illness, really would have liked to see SVA healthy to end the season as well. Would have made a huge difference not only in the tourney, but regular season games as well. Ockerman played a tough game with sharp passing , tough defense, and nice inside play. They earned the victory. Good luck to all who remain!
  2. No, Dearborn still out, but hope to have him back soon!
  3. Looking forward to a great 8th grade matchup Tuesday night when HMS plays SVA. They have played numerous times already this season, most of which have been very competitive. Should be a great game!
  4. Buzzer beater was a prayer!! 2 handed push shot from the sideline just over half court and banked it in. It was exciting and a good win for Twenhofel, but a lucky break that it went in.
  5. Please see Stinkyboys post below, he has seen the video, you have not. The ref called it a punch to the stomach. It was very slight, but your memory is totally wrong. Reviewing my post, I see nowhere that I portrayed a cheap shot, as a matter of fact I said it "wasn't much"
  6. It was the regular season game at SV, Highlands won by 2. The player was #12, and indeed it wasn't much of a punch, but I'm not sure what else to call it. I also never ever singled out Highlands, only mentioned I had video of games which include fan comments and activities, several of which I have sent to someone who requested it. I also agree that there is bad behavior all over, but the thread was regarding Highlands. I personally attend games to watch my son and his team perform, besides being a fan of the game. I don't think I have ever seen a ref reverse a call because a fan yelled at him. I personally don't like to see taunting on the court, but my thoughts are that behavior is easily learned watching NBA or college ball, still I encourage my son not to do it. Didn't really think my saying I had video proof would cause this much of a reaction, but the truth is the truth. Sorry.
  7. I video a lot of games, and have had the occasion to be in the middle of the Highlands parents section, and if anyone has any doubt about the behavior of the parents especially, I can easily provide you with proof, as their comments are heard throughout the video. Yelling at refs, making comments to opposing players, encouraging bad behavior on the court by their players, it is amazing to me that adults act this way, and it is no wonder the kids mirror that conduct. I sent a copy of one of the videos to the principal last year, which included a Highlands player punching a SV player and the ensuing encouragement from some parents. Sad, really.
