I can understand now the burnt out thing. All my son ever wanted was to go to college playing basketball. Last year when he graduated, be had a few options with partial scholarships for d2 and NAIA . He chose to go to William Penn University in Oskaloosa Iowa. 540 miles from home. One of the top NAIA programs in the country in basketball. He was ready to come home by Christmas break, but stuck out the year. BURNT OUT ON BBALL. He is now...

You say it's not a "safe way" to manage pain. If you read my earlier post, you would see that I have been on pain meds for ten years +. I have no addiction, nor do I take all that I am givin. Only take as needed. I know others like me, I know others who abuse the system to sell them, and I know others who can't get along in life without taking twice as much as I get monthly. It's only the addicts fault. Plain and simple. Yes there should be...

After watching AAU basketball and school ball for ten years straight, I have seen many a "bad" parent. I have also seen many a horrible referee. Not just because they missed a call, it's there attitude, their lack of knowledge on the rules, and just pure laziness. Ohio did seem to have worse than ky in AAU basketball. We had 2 guys one time that reffed a 8th grade game so well youd have thought they were D1 college refs. Next game same...

Since the first time I ever visited lake Erie , Huron, Michigan, and Superior I have wanted to go fishing up that way. We vacation in Michigan almost every year on the west coast. Those flys up in the UP/Canada can be vicious! Glad you enjoyed your trip, I look forward to doing the same soon enough.

I was going to say that but you know, people will disagree with that statement somewhere. Lol People have no will power to get over something when they do get hooked. In general people are weak. Society as a whole has become ignorant, lazy and week minded. All the things that make then easily addicted to anything. And I'm sure I'll get remarks for this one. Lol

It all comes to this though; someone had to write the prescription! And for those not familiar with ky system, it is harder to get a doc to write a script for pain pills than it was 5 years ago. 10 years ago I had to go to my spine doc every six months to get scripts renewed. Was only asked to drug test like every two years. Then it went to three months, drug tested every year. Now I have to go every two months to get 3 scripts filled. (...

Those numbers just posted above are very misleading. Look up the population of Clay county, 20,000 and change. In a year they dispensed app 2.8 million doses. If these pills were dispensed to people like me with back problems, which a lot of people have, and receive 2 doses a day (pills) like I do, it would only take roughly 3840 people (or 25% of the adult population) to have a prescription like mine per year to make that huge number. Some...

The media as usual fuels the fire for anything out there. I agree with showing it. Things should not be kept from the public. But on the other hand the media tends to glorify things into something they are not. They also leave out a lot of info that people should hear or see to get to the whole truth.

On the flipside to that, too many coaches get hired because of "loyalty". You should hire the best person for the job. Just because someone is alumni doesn't mean they will be the best coach.

I realise I never answer the question of winners and losers. So here you go. Winners- everyone that doesn't want to see these overpaid clowns disrespect. Losers- they already were when they didn't stand for the anthem.

Gotta love the Media though. Make sure to let everyone know the student is gay. That way the masses can say thats the reason his speech got cancelled. Even though the other speech was a no go too.

And I never said" love it or leave it". I said if you don't have pride in the flag you can go live somewhere else. I am not going to stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone who does not respect or have pride in this countries flag. I am not going to stand next to anyone who doesn't respect the flag enough to stand for the anthem. You don't stand for the anthem next to me and we are gonna have a problem.

I am not blind to it's faults or problems either. I have never said that people don't have the right to stand up for what is not right. When I choose to stand for something, I do it for the right reasons, the right way, and direct it toward the people or institution that is responsible. I love this country and would never intentionally disrespect the flag, the anthem, or the people who fought for this country. And i definitely don't expect any...

I'll say it again: if you don't have pride in the american flag you can go live somewhere else. This country as a whole does not suppress black people and people of color. So take your fight to the ones who do. You don't have to stand to "agree with us". Stand to show support for the country you live in. If you don't support the country you live in then get out.

As long as they don't disrupt the police's ability to perform their duties i wouldn't have a problem with the protest. Why would someone be saying "get a job"? We are talking about pro athletes here. You stated that they did it during the anthem to get attention and cause conversation. Yet most of the attention and conversation is toward the fact that many believe they are disrespecting the flag and the military, not the actual reason they are...

There again another one of you are not understanding what your reading. I never said I didn't agree with their cause. I don't agree with them doing it during the national anthem. I said it would make more sense and raise more awareness if they did it in front of police stations because that is where the problem lies, not at the football feild. And I'll ask you also, what am I telling?

I would take more notice of their cause if they did it in front of police stations all over the country. You just said nobody would care is why they did it during the national anthem. Yet you also state that the majority aren't caring about why they are protesting, they are simply looking at the fact they disrespected the flag and the military. So how does this help the cause?

What you just said is not what I said. I said about the flag, not because I didn't agree with the way they protested. Again why not protest in front of a police station?

If that is what they think it stands for, then by all means go live somewhere else that has a flag they believe in. That flag does not represent the bad police in this country.

Your the one who isn't hearing what some of us are saying. And you still didn't answer my question. Why did these people choose to protest by kneeling during the national anthem? Again protesting something that had nothing to do with the anthem or the job they are there to do. If you read my post I have stated I have no problem with protest. I believe they have a legit cause, but go do it in front of a police station where the rest of the world...
