  1. Wayne County was without its starting senior forward, Jakson Baker and trailed a majority of the game before taking their first lead midway through the 4th quarter.
  2. Not sure on the details of the injury but I think it's a game-to-game decision.
  3. It should be noted that Wayne County played without their senior PG Logan Brett due to injury. He averages almost 15 points per game.
  4. Whoever wins the second game gets the #1 seed. The rule changed when Monticello closed.
  5. With the win, Wayne County clinches the #1 seed in the district (assuming we beat McCreary next Friday). Heckuva game, folks.
  6. The refs did not lose the game for Wayne County. Missed calls on both ends. Mercer County is a great team. Wayne County is also a pretty dang good team; just ask Hopkinsville. Don't expect WC to have too many off nights from 3 like they had against Mercer. Blevins hits contested 3s night in and night out. Wayne County will be fine.
  7. Wayne shot 22/78 from the field. Shots just didn't fall tonight. WC/Hoptown game is at Southwestern.
  8. Final. Tight game for most of the way. Mercer pulled away in the 4th. Wayne County shot 3/30 from 3 and about 20ish percent from the field.
  9. Final last night from Casey County. Cardinals led by as much as 18 in the second half and kept a double digit lead thru out the half. Cardinals have a district match-up with McCreary Central next Tueaday night and a battle with Mercer County next Friday at Rodney C Woods Gymnasium.
  10. Final from the LC Holiday Hoops Classic. Stearns and Sylvester both played in this game.
  11. The Wayne County Cardinals are champions of the 2015 Smoky Mountain Classic defeating Lebanon, TN 82-75, Oxford, MS 55-47, and Calvary Christian (FL) 74-60 in the championship game. Great showing by the WC Cardinals and Coach Rodney Woods. Corey Stearns is still out with a foot injury and there's no timeline on his return.
