What about 4 classes, and the Final Four of the class tournaments are played at Rupp as part of the Sweet 16? 1&2A winners play each other, 3&4A do the same then you’re guaranteed the David vs Goliath in the finals every year. Everybody wins. Disclaimer: I’m fine with the status quo, but as long as the games are being played, I don’t care if they classify them alphabetically.

Why are they a Negative Nancy or Debbie Downer and not No-Fun Nicholas and Pessimistic Peter?

Agreed. Got out of school to go watch my Uncle’s teams a couple of years. I’ll never forget those trips.

I'll engage them for perspective. Also, if complaining makes them feel better and I don't have anything to complain about that day, I'll listen so I can complain about them at the bar, where all the sane people go to vent.

Why should a student-athlete give two hoots about the ramifications for the university? Also, regarding the bold, that's what's proposed in the OP, plus a graduate year transfer to reward your dedication to the college experience.

I'm not suggesting it should happen, although we'd get more games... but were Kentucky to go the route it appears to be heading, what would be the appropriate way to do so? As an All A guy, I like the mid-season tournament. I think seeing where you stand against schools close to your size can be very telling in what the rest of the season will require to compete in the three tournaments at the end of the year. Let's assume there would be...

And why not? Given the opportunity to choose any school in the country, I'm playing two years at an "east coast" school, two in the west, and one in the Big 12 to end Bill Self's career. Blow up the Twitterverse nationally, and be the subject of a fatal drinking game on First Take ( Tebow-Free First Take ) Of course, as a 23 year-old, my stock probably falls, but if I test well with the fans in a particular region, front offices, or at...

They're not athletes. They're student-athletes. The NCAA has made that clear as mud. Scholarships are one year obligations. When that year is up they HAVE to sign up for another year?

Dan Patrick’s Stat of the day: the Lakers are winless when Lonzo doesn’t play. I think the number is 0-8.

All but. I can't find the article at the moment, but his brother just announced his commitment to play football at Utah and in his tweet mentioned that he knew his big brother was smiling about it and he was glad Tyler had found his peace. That's not out and out saying it, but I can read between lines.

Student-athletes... While they do play basketball or football, they aren't basketball or football players. That would insinuate that they are professionals. Their pay goes toward an academic well-being. Let's take The Jake for example. He's on scholarship at WKU, but say he decides to change majors and go to a university with a more distinguished under-water basket weaving program. Why should he have to sit out of his extra-curricular...
