  1. Lol... knee injury... that's funny. I wonder if this new feud between DS and Cal will spur some of the DS folks to spill the beans? I would imagine they have known the true story all along. Pretty high brow of them to keep mum on the issue all this time.
  2. CAL better think twice about disrespecting MF's mid-field logo. Such actions will be taken very personally. Here's the thing, the MF players paint that bird themselves. Painting the Cardinal is part of the tradition around here. It would be wise to find other ways to tease and taunt and not poke that particular bear.
  3. Oh yeah, there's some bleachers and a full set of porta-johns over there. Y'all will be fine.
  4. Can I have all of the above as a choice? There are several on that list that I would pay good money to watch.
  5. My geography isn't that great, but how far in advance can this be planned out? Don't you have to wait to see who the winners are to figure out where the middle is? If so, you're trying to pull all this together in six days on Thanksgiving week. Seems like a tight turnaround. I don't know how you inform them on Sat that they will be hosting a game the next Fri on a week they are in session only Mon & Tues. I Iove the idea, but I'm just not that sure it's logistically feasible.
  6. #60 for OC is a great player on both sides. Highlighting him as the reason for the loss is nonsense. Some of those bad snaps might be the result of MF's nose guard. Ashley goes 300 lbs and is crazy quick and athletic for that size. He's the sweetest kid you will meet off the field, but he plays like someone just slapped his mother. If you had that 300 lb freight train banging on you all night with bad intentions, I bet you would have an errant snap or two as well.
  7. Wow, so that's at least three D1 players on the same team. Most 2a schools don't have any. Impressive.
  8. On the Wright thing, obviously I would never share it here, but there is a plan in place and it's a good one.
  9. Ok, so the updates thread is like 11 pages deep and I'm lazy. Would someone mind doing a cliff notes version of what happened here? Were there any contributors such as turnovers, penalties, or injuries? Was South just the better team and took it to BG? I get the sense BG struggled with pass protection maybe?
  10. Idk, I'll have to go back and watch it, but I wonder if OC didn't show something different than MF was expecting. Seems like MF made some adjustments along the way that really changed things. Congrats to OC on a great season. This will probably get me in trouble with my MF brethren, but I have a great deal of respect for OC. This isn't a private school that does the cherry picked all-star team thing. They execute well, play hard-nosed, physical football and fight you from snap to whistle. Almost every one of those kids is playing above their abilities. Those are some good kids playing football the way it's supposed to be played. Yeah, it got a little chippy there at the end, but I think it was a fan or player or two that don't represent the entire program. Safe travels on the way home.
  11. Confident but leery is the sense I'm getting from the players. I like the vibe I'm feeling from them this week. I think mentally they are in a great place.
  12. Kids like Hurt are examples that the recruiting process were you check 'height and weight' boxes instead of the 'can you play' box is broken. He has several schools interested, but no offers yet. He will play on Saturdays somewhere. As for food, I would add Applebee's and Wings,Etc to the lists above, though they wont be as fast at getting you in and out. My best suggestion tonight would be the benefit supper. It starts at 5 and is close to the stadium. You can grab a quick bowl of chili and talk football with Mayfield fans while supporting a great cause.
  13. Yeah, that Homer's show was a good listen. I was intrigued by hearing the Coach talking about OC making some adjustments this year to MF's double tight look. I'm curious what those changes might be and anxious to see how that chess game plays out. Not sure why, but it has historically taken this Oline a series or three to sort out the 3-3 stack. I suspect they just don't see it enough. I think they get it worked out earlier this year and offensively will be fine. Defensively for MF, it sounded like OC was planning on trying to run the ball. I just don't think that's how you attack this MF team, but maybe he's seeing something I don't. All in all, I think OC will be ready to play and this will be a great one. Friday can't get here fast enough.
  14. Fake news. If you meet my family you would realize very quickly just how absurd your ridiculous accusations are... for very obvious reasons.
