  1. Ok...I signed up to set a few things straight.:ohbrother: First of all we have about 60 players counting our freshmen. That is about the number at our "Meet the Team" so give or take a few since then and that is where we are. We do have approximately 20 seniors and almost all of them have played a ton of football. We lost 2 starters off a Regional Championship team from last season. That team was eliminated in the State Semis by the two time defending state champions so this group has played a ton of football and played some great competition. They are currently 37-5. Someone above slammed our schedule but we seem to be doing just fine. I am not sure what board member was blowing smoke (I know them all very well), but we do not have 5 D1 players. We do have some kids that will get ample opportunities to play on Saturdays if they so choose. Here are the names you are gonna hear a lot of on Friday. #11 Bryan Rolfe- SR QB/CB/P - This kid is our best player. He has received some D1 attention (Purdue/Cincinnati) but no offers. Rolfe can do it all. Great arm. Smart. 25-3 as a starter. I believe 7 picks on defense last year and already has a punt return TD this season. Raceland better know where he is at all times because he will find a way to make you pay. Bryan is the "Straw that stirs the drink". He is a great athlete. Will be a 4 year starter at point guard in the winter. #23 Blake Howard - SR TB/S - Undersized but very quick and tough to tackle. Blake has great hands and can beat you in the run and pass game. Howard is one of those runners where it never seems the first kid to contact him ends up with the tackle. You have to gang tackle him and you better never believe "the play is over". Blake is a very very good high school running back. He is not Baker, but he is not to be underestimated. #45 Drew Wolford - SR ILB/FB - Drew has turned himself into quite a beast. Always around the ball and in the right spot. Does a great job running the ball but an even better job leading Howard on the iso. Drew is a 3 year two way starter and even played quite a bit as a Freshman on a 12-1 Regional runner up team. The video above shows the type of player that Wolford is. #24 Brice Romanello - SR TE/DE/K - Outside of Baker, I will state that Brice is possibly the best pure athlete that Raceland will see this season. Romanello is a matchup nightmare at TE. He has elite speed and can change a game quickly. Finished last season with I believe 15 TD catches and 14 sacks. As a freshman and sophomore, hit game winning FG's to beat Wheelersburg (As a freshman it was with under a minute to go). I believe Brice finished last season in the top 10 in the state with 34 goals in soccer and also scored 20 second half points to beat conference champion Minford last season in basketball. Romanello is a gamebreaking athlete. #55 Jordan Spradlin - SR RT- At about 6'5'' 305 Jordan is a monster. He plays that way. Spradlin has had a history of knee problems that have probably kept small division one offers from coming in, but a good SR year film and Jordan will play at the next level. So that is a little about our team and what to expect tomorrow. We love this group and we play with a lot of confidence. We hope you enjoy your trip to our stadium as we feel it is one of the nicest around. Good luck to the Rams. Valley 28 Raceland 14
