  1. Just saw where Scott's Holly Kallmeyer committed to Hanover College for basketball. Will she also be playing volleyball?
  2. Scott losses 5 Seniors from thier back to back Regional Champ Team (Kallmeyer, Tapp, Bishop, Berning and Farrell). But this will be more of a reloading year for the Lady Eagles. Look for Kelly Franxman and Jordan Tapp to pick up where they left off last season. Also look for Kimberly Davis and a host of talented underclassman including Madison Fields, Topanga Thomas and Summer Segrist to play big next year. Never count anyone out. There is a lot of talent in the 10th, but I like the Eagles chances.
  3. Very physical game saw Kallmeyer after the game with a black eye.
  4. Great win for the Eagles. Like it was said earlier the Cougars area tough athletic team. Nice to see the Eagles starting to get it together.
  5. Saw this young lady for myself today against East Carter. To get the negative out of the way briefly. She is not a Miss KY candidate. I agree with all the others that is Erin Boley's to lose. Boley is by far the more complete player. The End. Now for the real: She is a great athlete in general. My guess is she would excel or at least be really good at any sport. She has great upper body strength as evidenced by the number of times she is able to shoot through contact and still be accurate to the basket. She has a great euro step and ball movement during her layup. Skills that are hard to learn and are more natural and instinctive than any other player I have seen. But I believe her vision is and her ability to move the defender one direction and the go back the other directing is fantastic. If I was to place her in a peer class it would be with Ally Neace from SK and Bailey Cummins from Bracken County. Also great Shooters, though I think Creech has better vision and is more athletic than both. Lastly, I love the little guy and while Creech and Jenkins are the little engine that could my favorite part of today's game was the 2 "very" young ladies on the bench for Jenkins as Creech picked up her 4th foul and another player fouled out. The thought that they may be put into action was on one hand exciting and on the other kinda nerve racking. Of Jenkins, I am officially a fan. Of Creech I am also a fan and look for to do great things at WKU.
  6. It doesn't get any easier for Scott at the next tournament opening up with Henry Clay and having to play SK among others and still missing their top player for several more weeks. Look for Scott to fall at least one to two more spots.
  7. Heard through friends that one of the Wilmington College coaches was there and talking to Kallmeyer for about 20 min after the game. Any news on her?
  8. Appreciating all of McPapa's work. I can only assume the silence on this team is that nobody knows at this point what to expect. Looking at thier stats from last year having 4 players avg. double digits and coming with a hairs breath of advancing in the region I thought there would be more chatter. I only know what I read and that is they might be fast or they might be big and physical. Anyone from the Eagle faithful care to elaborate?
  9. Good Luck to the Eagles at State. Looking at the draw you are going to have win 4 of the toughest games you will ever play. But honestly, this is one Cinderella story I can get behind!!!
  10. Heard through the grapevine that at Scott the senior Kallmeyer's 7th grade little sister made the team. Not sure what level she is playing at but if she is even close to being the multi-sport athlete her sister is it bodes well for SHS's future.
  11. Final from Alexandria: Scott 3 25 25 25 Bishop Brossart 0 10 16 11 Congrats to both teams on a well played match and good luck to both at Regionals.
  12. Agree with you 100% about the 10th. Lots of talent in this region. Also agree with you about Kramer and Jolly. I feel they bring a certain spark to the Camels that the others can't match. Mason is obviously loaded with talent and it's really going to boil down in MC to who gets more selfish with the ball. Everybody knows Cummins at Bracken is going to get her points. The real challange will be developing a support cast to create turnovers and get her the ball. At Scott I think you can throw small hand towel over Clephane, Kallmeyer and Stapleton they are so close. One is a better defender, one is a terrific shooter and the other is just freaky athletic. Looking forward to some great fireworks out of all these girls this season!!! Good luck to all
