  1. Hydra / Seven - Agree completely with both of you in your summations of the difficulty of this traditionally great job. As a HOF Coach Fookes with her experience brought the best out of players and maybe out coached the other teams in the district. This is going to be a tough district Conner, Ryle on the rise Cooper has 3 potential College Players in their starting 5 next year, all of these schools getting more kids with new housing going up that Boone is not drawing from.
  2. We can all speculate as much as we want but this was a tough position for any potential coach to step into. Thought the coach did a fine job with the team last year as a young first year coach. Let's be realistic this was a traditionally great job but not anymore. If a better teaching position came along and the decision was to explore it, Good for her. Why does it need to be more than that?
  3. Correct 8 kids last year, 4 will graduate this year one of those girls will be Olivia Stokes. OC, I didn't say anything about strength of the team returning. My comment stated that I think BW will field a team next year. That team will consist of 4 returning players including Ally Johnson, Kimi Stokes, Laney Sullivan, Maddie Stokes possibly 3 Freshman Joclyn Stokes, Mar Johnson, Cameron Johnson and some other girls who have played in the past may come back for their senior years.
  4. I don't see them cancelling the program this year. While it may not be ideal they do have at least 4 Girls from last years team returning and 3 girls from 8th grade who will be freshman next year. Could also have 2-4 girls who may return to the program for their senior years who have played previously for the Tigers.
  5. I have no idea who applied and who didn't apply. My question simply asked if any of the Bluegrasspreps front runners had any Varsity experience. "Do any of the front runners have varsity experience?" There are a lot of qualified candidates for coaching positions who don't have Varsity experience. Guess that would be up to the AD to decide if that was important. I really don't care who gets the job, but if they wanted to talk to me about being on their staff I would take that as a compliment.. Please contact me at Jtru here at BluegrassPreps and let me know when I start..
  6. Politics.. I did like the way Harris played during Holmes Regional and State tournament run. Wishing her the very best at Lindsey Wilson. But lets look at stats as a way to compare and take into account Harris, Schwartz played 4-6 more games in their numbers. Games, 2pts scored, 3pts scored,Free Throws,Total Pts, Avg. Schwartz, Mallory 31 97 31 73 360 11.6 Harris, Jynea 32 119 35 125 468 14.6 Held, Lexi 27 115 44 117 479 17.7 Johnson, Allison 26 79 71 99 470 18.1 Let's look head to head Schwatz 7 - Johnson 17 Schwatz 24 - Held 24 Harris 33 - Johnson 33 Harris 13 - Held 6 This show my 2 are just as good if not better. They still have time to mature and get better as both Harris, Schwatz are seniors and Held,Johnson are underclassmen.
  7. Not sure what your referring too.. I think you may have me confused with some one else..
  8. Do any of the front runners have varsity experience? That's any interesting group there, any other applicants? Have they closed the the application process?
  9. Davis would be a loss to the team. Believe the program could handle the loss of Brock plenty of younger girls could play her role as a shooting guard. The best option for seniors is to stay put where you are, could be a valuable lesson about the grass isn't greener somewhere else. I hope this is a rumor for the players sake..
  10. CC avg. 67 points a game this year, the 5 seniors average 37 points. So CC is losing roughly 49% of it's offense and your expecting them to make it up with bunch of untested JV/underclassman. That's a lot of points for coach Menafee to have to coach up next year. This years team had such good balance that it was hard for other teams to slow one or two players down as the others on the court picked them up. That's going to be harder to do with next year. Teams are not going to fear anyone coming off that bench and they will game plan around Clos and Schwaber. Have also heard that Menafee is not a big fan of the Keeton girl and has set some unrealistic expectation on her for the summer. She could certainly help them rebounding, defensively and at one point in her career she was a pretty good outside shooter/scorer. SCOTT - Played large portions of their season with out Holly and Tori due to injuries, a lot of other girls got Varsity minutes. The Eagles will have an easier time replacing their seniors than their district rival. Mason - A little prescriptive, maturity and chip on their shoulder. If they go about their business and don't get caught up in the hype/expectations. They are the most dangerous team in this region talent depth coaching.
  11. I think CC losing 3/5 of their starting line up, including their leading scorer, 5/8 Varsity only players loses a little more than a couple contributors. The new girls may be filling roles but next years team will only have 3 players with any significant Varsity experience. They still make the regional tournament but only because the rebuild at Brossart is a couple of years away and finishing second in District should be obtainable. CC would have to be considered a real dark horse to win next year against Mason, Scott and GRC.. all of whom return most of their starters. (Mason 5/5, Scott 4/5, GRC 4/5)
