  1. 8) Lexington Christian Academy - Michael Fulton 10) Montgomery County - Christy M. Lansdale
  2. Why not just play till someone scores. They don't change a baseball game to get a winner faster. Just play till someone wins.
  3. 2 Montgomery and 2 LCA, mostly young talent, only 1 varsity starter that I know of.
  4. Matt Puckett was hired to lead GRC Baseball. He was the GRC Softball coach but had been an assistant to the GRC Baseball coach before Matt Ginter. I don't think Matt Ginter is going to be an assistant at Fredrick Douglas. But would not be surprised it he did not end up as a pitching coach or assistant coach somewhere. I know of 4 players that has transferred but it could be more.
  5. Any rumors about who may be applying.
  6. My question is who do you move out of the top 20 to make room for Russell and Lawrence? Both teams had great season but Russell played 4 top 25 team and lost to all 4, NCC won 4-0, GRC won 4-1, Boone Co won 4-0, and Lex Cath won 6-0. Lawrence only played one and lost to Simon Kenton 4-0. Also during the season Lawrence lost to Russell 3-0. I think they both had great seasons but its hard for me to find a team that should be moved out of the top 20 to let them in. Just my opinion. Congrats on all the teams left and good luck.
  7. Harrison wins in PK's vs Bourbon. Morgan Hein and Katelyn Whitaker hit PK's for Bourbon and McKinlee Kellione, Laura Ledford, Chandlyr Puckett and Charlie Moore hit PK's for Harrison. Congratulations Harrison Co.
  8. I can agree with that, I know in the past it a real battle between West and Boyle. True Rivalry Game.
  9. Going into the last week has anything really changed other than the 9th region is always crazy due to the top teams that are in it?
  10. Bishop Brossart plays Bourbon on Wednesday, September 21st @ Bourbon Co.
  11. We are past the midway point of the soccer season and I had some extra time today and looked at all the regions and their scores. Here is what I think at this point of the season could be the region winners and their matchups. Let me know what you think or what teams you think will win their regions. 4 Bowling Green @ 1 Murray 2 Henderson Co @ 3 Owensboro Catholic 8 Simon Kenton @ 5 Bethlehem 6 Mercy @ 7 Sacred Heart 12 Boyle Co @ 9 Highlands 10 Bishop Brossart @ 11 Lexington Catholic 16 Russell @ 13 Corbin 14 Perry County Central @ 15 Lawrence Co
  12. I am not sure about volleyball and how they are set up. I was able to get information and as of 10/11/15 there were 47% of the schools with soccer teams paid their fee. There was only two team that was listed that I thought was top tier teams. I also know in girls’ soccer that all paid member coaches only get to vote on their all region teams. Then a representative (This representative is selected by the khsgsca officers or president, not really sure but it’s not by the region) from each region is allowed to vote on the all-state team. I know in a reply above that it was implied that they feel bad for player that don't get picked because of coaches that don't pay the money for them to have a chance but there are a lot of teams that pay and still have not had any players picked to the all-state teams. I know that our team has paid at least the last 3 years and not had anyone selected to the all-state teams. I would say that some coaches are tired of paying the $50 and watching the same team put 3 - 6 players on the team every year and watch other good players be left out. That sounds bad but I hear it all the time. All the players on the team probably deserve and should be there. The problem is with the entire system and there is not a perfect way. There is no way that any coach or coaches can see every team play and every player play. The coaches that are doing the voting have only seen a certain number of the teams play and that is usually only one game. They try to go on stats but as we all know they can be deceiving by the type of schedule that has been played. I hope all the coaches that is voting for the all-state teams have the best interest in all the players. If so then I applaud their efforts and their time spent doing this for the players. (Also all players I listed above, their teams paid this year)
  13. I believe your numbers may be a little off. The last time I looked there may be 20% that are not members and that was a lot of the small schools but a few big school that surprised me. The list was on the website but I was unable to pull it up. I can tell you of the girls I listed above, I know the membership was paid except for maybe Henry Clay (I am not sure but they may have). The voting is not done by all the members. Each region has a representative that was chosen by the Kentucky High School Girls Soccer Coaches Association to represent that region. I will say there is no perfect way and there will always be different views on who should make it and who shouldn't. If there wasn't different views there would never be any post on this forum. I wish all the girls good luck that made it and good luck to all the girls that didn't.
  14. Grace Whalen - Henry Clay Haleigh Yazell - Bourbon Co. Brooke Abner - GRC Caitlyn Burdine - Woodford Co. Sarah Cox - Scott Co. This is my opinion only. These are players that I have seen play and feel very confident that they would match up with most and better than a number of the players that are on the list.
