  1. Really lackluster display from the purples and maybe a worrisome one. Not a ton of cohesion offensively for most of the game and a clear inability to stop the ball in transition. However, this is what makes the purples so scary. They played hard for a total of 4 minutes tonight, the last 4 of the game and they still won. They are very clearly 17-25 points better than franklin but they let off the gas and coast too much some times. Almost cost them tonight, and it's the "we'll just flip the switch when we need too" mentality that gets good teams beat in march. There aren't many teams in the state if any who can turn it on and shut a teams water off quite like BG. Play consistently hard for 4 quarters and I don't think there is a team in the state that can beat them. Coast and take it easy and they can be beat on any night.
  2. Bowling Green loses to the eventual state champion for 3 years running. Dunbar the best team in it. What a great run from them!

  4. 5 in 8 trips to the finals. Every time he has made the 4th region tournament as a Bowling Green coach, he has made at least the finals and is 17-0 in the tournament against teams outside the 14th district. Also 5-4 in the state tournament with a final four and a runner up.
  5. D.G. Sherrill wins his 5 regional title in 8 tries a Bowling Green coach, including 4 of the last five and each of the last 3. Also first school to sweep the boys and girls crowns in the 4th region in the same season since 1983. Congrats to the purples! Best team in the region bell to bell and can't wait to see if they can continue their magic at rupp!
  6. Chane was a very good individual player but didnt match bowling green's run and gun pressing style at the time and his lack of desire to press as well as his obvious need to have the ball slowed BG's style and pace so much that they didnt win a regional title while he was there. I still believe they would have won both '10 and '11 had they had Vic Smith instead of CB (many have called me outright insane for that statement but i stand by it - central certainly benefited from his transfer). A series of questionable at best officiating calls in 2010 cost BG in a thrilling double OT final, and '11 was one of the most monumental collapses I have ever witnessed in high school ball game. No excuses for losing when you are up double figs under 2 to play. Central won both years but many believed BG had the more talented teams both goes. Riley had the magic touch. Glad those days are long gone, ha.
  7. Im glad you joined in dragonfire. A continual voice of reason and fairness.
  8. Ah, all fun and games. Just nice to kick a former power while they're down because they did more than their fair share of pounding teams inside and outside of this region for a long, long time. I did compliment Central several times in my posts stating that they had an incredible run and unprecedented region and state success (see, i've done it twice here). But, choose to look past that if you will - I feel I have been rather fair and honest. My only beef was WC seemed to always get a pass when it came to the whole "transfer" situation, and BG is seen as some sort of cheating villain all of the sudden. Oh well.
  9. Him and his brother Trey Jones came from Adair County after Kyran's eighth grade year.
  10. Warren central kept it in the city limits? What planet are you from? They had a transfer from Louisiana start for them last year and was second in scoring. The anderson brothers who won them their only state title were imports from out of state. #30 from Russell County last night played at Christian County 2 years ago and Warren Central last year. And as for Cristian County, a very good player by the name of Anthony Hickey came to them from Tennessee after his freshman year and won them a state title and Mr. Basketball. Again, refrain from making silly/unfounded comments if you don't want to be called out.
  11. Warren Central is in this tournament (well not anymore) and in the region, so they are pretty involved. For WKY to throw stones about a team having no home grown players when the best dynasty the 4th region has ever seen (WC) based their entire program on kids that didnt grow up in their system. Go on somewhere unless you would like to argue that my statement isnt valid.
  12. Pretty funny statement given Warren Central ran the 4th region for over a decade with next to no home grown players whatsoever. Everyone loves to hate ol Bowling Green. And what about christian county and hoptown? Those kids trade schools like nba players. Tired argument used by moronic haters.
  13. Seeing he scored 28 against BG a year ago in the region semis and missed a couple freebies late...I'd say a year more seasoned with a shot at rupp on the line as a senior it isnt out of the question, no?
  14. Barren County has an incredibly smart X's and O's coach that can keep them in every game - They also have a division 1 commit to Costal Carolina in Wade Coomer who can go for 40 on any given night and can shoot from the parking lot. Bowling Green is the clear favorite, but this game will not be a cake walk especially when you lose 12 points and 11 rebounds in the form of Jones. Discounting his absence is rather naive.
