  1. This just doesn't seem to be a priority for the school system. Shouldn't take this long to make a decision. Heard from other parents that are being put off by the school when they ask what is going on. My kids love Coach Berry & Coach Trumbo and I would hate to see another school system pick them up when they are what we need here at Danville.
  2. Have heard that interviews are taking place this week. Would expect them to name a coach by the end of the school year.
  3. Things have been pretty quiet on this. The only applicant we've heard apply has been Coach Berry. He's coached the middle school girls for the past few years and has a travel team for 7th/8th girls. The consensus with parents and talk around town is that he would be perfect for the job.
  4. Should be a good game. If Danville plays to their capability and stays out of foul trouble, I think it could be a double digit win for the Ads. Lots of trash talking on twitter but that's to be expected with a cross town rival. Have to stop Slone, he's a beast!
  5. Heard the same info. I doubt it's for academic reasons because from what I've heard he gets excellent grades.
  6. I would keep in mind that you are affiliated with Danville's rival school so you might not be getting the correct information
  7. Jared is still playing golf at this time, that is the reason. He is expected to join the team in the Fall just like he's done every year.
  8. Well of course they didn't look great at Collins - half of the team was missing and they pretty much had an all guard lineup because none of the post players were there. Most of the football/baseball/golf players have not been playing Summer ball which is typical. I don't think we should forget that the Danville JV team (who make up most of the current varsity roster) won district, beat Lincoln twice in the post-season (district & regional) and absolutely thrashed Boyle during regular season. IMO, I believe they will be competing for a district championship and a possible region run. I think people will really be surprised at the team this year once they are all playing together - these kids have heart, and you can't teach that.
  9. I believe Coach Berry works as a Teaching Assistant in Danville Schools while he's finishing up his degree
  10. Loyalty/respect goes a long way around here, especially when you are trying to build a program back up. Danville has had Coaches come in with no ties and they haven't worked out - always left after a season or two. If McKinney leaves, Danville needs someone like him - someone who has deep roots with the program and who has earned the respect of the players and parents and someone who would be willing to stay for several years.
  11. Wright is an excellent Coach, no doubt about that. However, the Danville program needs someone with Danville ties and IMO there's nobody that knows these kids better than McKinney's protege - the current JV/Freshmen Coach Berry. It would come as a complete shock if he were not tapped as Danville's new Coach.
  12. Re: Danville The young guard playing in the Casey Co. game was Tanner Ford (Soph). Danville was missing several players in this scrimmage, would expect to have seen a closer game had they had an inside presence. Sutherland will play this year, mark my words. Danville, Fern Creek any Casey Co. play tonight - games start at 5.
  13. While I don't condone vandalism in any form, maybe this is karmic retribution for BC students who vandalized the Danville Boys bus with a huge banner of a food stamp as well as phallic imagery that was beyond inappropriate.
