They send their kids there now and they don't offer football. Not everyone sends their kid to a certain school for athletics, some do consider academics, student to teacher ratio, connections, and various other opportunities. Adding football will help Sayre get those that were already considering it but wanting to play football. I have 1 son that graduated from Sayre and another that would have gone to Sayre but didn't because he wants to play...

No I am not saying that. I responded "nonsense" to what I see as nonsense. Do you really believe no other schools in the Louisville area wanted him and /or would take him? Great young man with a bright future.

Key statement...."if they follow the rules". Most don't follow the rules because it typically involves a substantial change. Your original post indicated that they should be able to transfer anytime. By the way, there is nothing immediate about the process. It is cumbersome at best.

Apples to oranges. Would be a complete mess if this happened.

It's a good thing for parents to strive to put their kids in best place to facilitate success. If that means transferring, then by all means go for it. Again, just don't lie and cheat to get it done. I went through a transfer with a child of my own. I completely understand the process is cumbersome and somewhat flawed. That being said, it is the process and rules should be followed. We followed the rules and told the truth and yes, it took a...

Never said the numbers of people doing it was a problem or a big deal. Simply said, you can't compare transferring for athletic reasons, and transferring for other reasons. Also stated that in my opinion it's fine to transfer, just follow the rules.

Seriously, that's your argument? How many kids do you really think transfer for band, art, etc.? It's just not even close to the same, most of those activities mentioned don't compete. I said it before and I'll say it again, transfer all you want, just do it by the rules and don't cheat a lie.

What's he suppose to sit out of...classes? This is a weak argument that people always bring up. Academics and athletics are apples and oranges. Academics is the reason you go to school, sports are extracurricular.

Have heard at least two. Not sure how they will be eligible. They will claim it's suddenly a hardship to pay tuition. It's a joke, the qb from Dunbar that transferred last semester is back at Dunbar this semester. Wake up KHSAA.

Yes. high school sports should be about the kids. That being said, just like in real life there are rules, regulations, etc.. No matter what we think of them, and they are by no means perfect, they should be followed. The Woodside transfer was done by the rules so no problem. As for those kids that "want to live out a dream" but don't have a way to transfer, I say make the best of your current situation or follow the rules and live with the...

So for those that are all for transfers and don't have any issues with them. How do you feel about a "student athlete " that transfers for one semester to play ball then transfers back to his original school to graduate? Are we good with this? Is this good for high school sports, good for the kid, good for either school?

Big, big step and LC isn't what it used to be. That being said, you have to play the best to beat the best.

I seriously doubt Trinity would schedule LC and I have no idea why LC would want that beat down but what do I know.

He was not called, he applied, at least in some of the cases. He is at LCA still because he didn't get the other jobs.

They may be talented but they lost a lot of talented seniors and some talented transfers. Hard to replace them with freshmen and sophomores. The loss of an OC and a Head Coach that has applied for every job around Lexington is not a good sign.
