Not sure if they have settled on a mascot name but I know they are getting kids from all over Lexington and the surrounding area. They're going to be better than your typical new school.

I'll bet it's Braxton Beverly. He may be past his prime but he definitely could help.

Tough to gauge from 7 v 7. Lafayette should still be the favorite in the city once they put the pads on. I actually think they will slowly drop off each year for the next few. The freshman class you mentioned is good but they have lost some players, don't really have a qb and they didn't dominate everyone. They lost twice to Scott Co. and beat Tates Creek in OT at home in a game that TC dominated without their freshman qb that played up. I...

It's going to be an interesting year for Lexington city football. I am hearing that Fredrick Douglas will have plenty of talent but not be very deep. They have several kids from Bryan Station, Henry Clay, at least 1 good one from LCA, and at least 1 from Texas. Bryan Station has had several significant departures to FD and a few to other city schools but will still have nice talent. Henry Clay has lost some players to FD and don't seem to be...

Yes they were and no one is disputing that. I think the point is that they will have to improve on defense this year if they are going to get any where near that far this year. They had some special offensive players last year that as far as I know aren't coming back for a 5th year. They should still be good but it's hard to replace players of the caliber they lost and not miss a beat. The 2 linebackers might be the "real deal" (1 is proven the...

Where they not the real deal last year? They had more talent last year. I don't expect a big change.

He was a qb in middle school and is a really good athlete. I would say he's more like 6'1-2" and 160.

Whoever it is will have big shoes to fill. Walker Wood was/is such a special football player. The only other qb that played for them the last few years was Quentin Brown who was a wide receiver and a senior. With coaching changes and Wood gone I would expect a revamped offense. The defense has the players but really needs to step up. Last season they gave up a lot of production and relied on the offense to put up big numbers.
