  1. He will be leaving for sure and he will do well at Aspire he has a great support group, Hoptown has never had a kid to do 2 to 3 hours worth of football practice and still get in the gym and work by himself for 2 hours almost everyday while maintaining honors grade. He has been hurt for 2 years first summer being healthyand he picked up 3 or 4 offers. Bone bruises usually take you out for the season and he played through all year. His work ethic is tremendous everyone talking about bball and football but he is a great student so he will be fine either way!
  2. Regardless of sports getting a better education, put kids ahead of the game. Going to an Academy look better on resumes, not to mention the School specializes in high competition basketball with proven coaches and players to compete with everday. They play the best upper class men and the younger ones wait their turn because they know their program is elite, ie. Oak Hill, Findlay Prep.
  3. Either way the kids had a great work ethic excellent grades and ACT score. He will land on his feet with a great support system. Good luck to this young fella whatever decision he make!
  4. Jalen Johnson is highly underrated but 2nd region never get no love! 27 point and 5 on one day call up, while practicing football is impressive!
  5. Jalen Johnson and shorty cager from Hoptown? Wow!Best backcourt in the state
  6. He is definitely healthy, CJ, Govan, Tefrell, James Nicholas are low key killers with Don Parker D1 football player brings physical defense and excellent rotations, adding senior Josiah Patton craftiness and game control with added defense to Jalen and Shorty. Should make for exciting rest of the year with all four road games
  7. Doubt that there is a lot of pride in those coaches and kids, they play every game to win, their bench is still really good! They compete in practice so well that they could hold it down tho.
  8. Did play half court vs Fern Creek and Brentwood (missing jalen Johnson that game)! He would have been crazy to do so vs the two best scorers in the region (unlimited range with green light), when we did 4th quarter yesterday they came back just like last time. Christian county tried it also and lost!
  9. Attucks Wolfpack 16u beat Team Penny at the time #1 in D1 in AAU in nation and beat Da House #4 in D1 AAU in the nation! They won nationals in D2 nationals in 2015, and placed 5th in 2016, they are longest running travel ball team in Hopkinsville, with a lot really solid players, that state championships in AAU and Midwest national championship. Solid program with certified coaches.
  10. Hoptown want loose either of those games this week those kids have too much heart and too much defense. They want loose until the last game of the season vs Findlay Prep in a nail biter, will be an eye opener for them and then they will go deep into a state championship game.
  11. Don't worry hoptown middle school school has at least six solid 8th graders with two kids that will be well over 6'2, to add to a class of five really solid freshman, and four solid sophomores two of which start varsity. The aforementioned juniors will be seniors Jalen and shorty. They will be loaded for quite some time. Top high school programs understand that you loose talent in the summer time, if they are not with positive coaches that increase their abilities. Five more years of running the town should be inevitable.
  12. Crazy thing those two teams were my picks to win state this year. One of them cant go! They both have the hardest road to win it, if they do it may be the toughest road in history.
  13. Also list quality wins! There are many putting up big numbers with green light and no quality wins.
  14. Hopkinsville played the number #1 point guard in the (Duke commit) Darius Garland and shorty cager put up 26 on him with Jalen Johnson who was injured, he absolutely shredded #4 Christian county with 28, Johnosn had 20 I believe, Fern Creek #1 he had 26, Johnson 20. They will be play Findley prep February 17. He held BG's Tyger Campbell to 14 points the week after he got off the football field with an injury.
