  1. The KHSAA penalizes kids within Kentucky who attend schools such as North Hardin Christian, Somerset Christian, Lexington Trinity, Wesley Christian and so on by not allowing them to compete against member schools. These are legitimate schools within Kentucky who choose not to be sanctioned by the KHSAA for whatever reason. Although the KHSAA allows "PREP" teams from outside Kentucky to play their member schools. This went to vote at the end of last year and was changed to allow exactly what I said above. I knew the outcome the day of the vote due to the fact I received a call from a board member of the KHSAA. I can't see the difference in private schools in the state of Kentucky (whom a lot of people say shouldn't be allowed to play for state titles anyway) and "PREP" teams outside the state. Would love to know the actual reasoning on those decisions. I no longer coach at the Independent high school level in Kentucky but while I did I questioned the KHSAA on many occasions about this very rule. So Aspire Academy cannot play KHSAA schools but Huntington Prep or Mountain Mission whom both are located 20 minutes from the state line can play anyone in Kentucky who chooses to play them.
  2. You're right I know most of us would be glad to give them their fees just in order to play KHSAA schools and stay independent.
  3. This is what bothers me about the KHSAA. They did pass this rule to allow KHSAA schools to play teams such as this who are outside the state of Kentucky but will not allow actual schools in Kentucky who choose to not be part of the KHSAA to play. Tell me again how it's all about the kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Wesley Christian School is a NCAA and SEVIS certified K-12 school located in Allen(5 Minutes from Prestonsburg and 20 from Pikeville). Which means our classes are accepted by the NCAA and we can enroll International students by issuing the correct paperwork for the student to apply for a student VISA to study in the United States. We're a member of the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association and Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association. Our boys basketball team plays an independent schedule against other Public, Private and Prep schools from across the country. We currently have no agreement with the KHSAA regarding any student enrollment. like other private schools in the state who choose to not be a part of the KHSAA we cannot play KHSAA schools. Although, I've been told that schools like us will once again be allowed to scrimmage KHSAA schools in the preseason if a KHSAA member school chooses to scrimmage us.
