  1. LaRue is still a year or two from challenging for a Regional title. Give Coach Jaggers and his staff until next year and that could be the case. I see them as District runners-up this season, and going to Princeton and giving Caldwell a good game...but Regional title?? Not sure I see that happening this season.
  2. Things are shaping up to get interesting in the 5th Region with this one. Central now becomes the 2 seed in the 17th and will play John Hardin 1st round.
  3. Have to say congrats to Coach Anthony Boone for being named the new principal at Munfordville School! Great coach and amazing man who will do great things as an administrator I'm sure.
  4. The only thing I have to add in terms of rebuttal to you ATL is don't underestimate E-town. Mark Brown knows how to win (look at his John Hardin dynasty he built before retiring for the first time), and even when decimated by graduation finds a way. E-town could very easily be a top 10 team come November if not earlier.
  5. Having been there in person, it should have been 14-7 at half. Central scored on busted coverage. Plain and simple. Game should have been a touchdown game at half. Central also didn't pull many of their starters at the end of the game...maybe 2-3. Again, I was there and kept track. On the words exchange, there may not have been any tense words spoken, but from where I was standing after the game it seemed to get rather tense. And I wasn't the only one who got that impression.
  6. I've said it before, John Hardin is hard to beat in Bulldog Stadium. Injuries or not, JH expects (and usually does) win in this stadium regardless of who they play. JH 35 Spencer 21
  7. Adair has surprised me this season...I'll go ahead and say it. I wasn't expecting them to win last weekend against Union. But this week I believe Caldwell has too much for the Indians to handle, especially with a trip to Princeton playing under the daunting watchful eye of their Tiger painted on the gym. Caldwell 49 Adair 14
  8. E-town vs. Tilghman. I have to say I wasn't on board with Etown to start the year, but I can see them winning this week and pushing Caldwell next. Mark Brown has turned around a faltering program quickly and I look for E-town to stay consistently a top 15 team until he retires (again). If I don't head over to Bulldog Stadium across town for the John Hardin vs. Spencer County game I may be heading to Panther Stadium to watch these two titan programs battle.
  9. This one could be a classic. For those who are unaware, Meade held their own against the Bruins during the regular season, going toe to toe with Central until roughly the mid-4th quarter when a combination of blown coverage and good timed play calling for the Bruins iced the game away. After the game, some who watched the handshake appeared to see the two coaches exchange some words. I like Central Hardin to pull it out, but I'm feeling some fireworks in Cecilia Friday night when Meade comes rumbling in. Bruins 35 Greenwave 31
  10. That we know of...C-USA has some strict guidelines the Sub Belt never had. With all that said, let's wait and see what happens later this month at LT-Smith Stadium when "The Herd" comes Thunderin' in (pun intended). Don't forget folks, WKU ended Marshall's bid at a perfect conference season last year. And we all know WKU has struggled when the offense can't get going (remember when La Tech came in earlier this season?!), and ole Doc can coach.
  11. Franklin County has a MAJOR uphill battle and I don't see that upset happening. You have to play nearly flawless ball to win in Bulldog Stadium. John Hardin is a machine on that field. It took a miracle for mighty BG to win there a few years ago remember. Away from it though...
  12. BigMelon...having attended games at BOTH Feix Field (WKU) and Commonwealth (UK) I can tell you that is not a good idea. There would be ZERO atmosphere at Commonwealth for a High School game. We have yet to sell out WKU (capacity 22,113) and you want to move to Commonwealth (capacity 61,000)?!?!?! How many of you realize the lengths WKU goes to for the KHSAA and State Championship Football games? Being a WKU student when the games first moved to WKU, I can tell you it's incredible. Students are REQUIRED to vacate both Parking Structure 1 (the older one) AND Egypt (Creason Lot, the one beside the soccer/softball complex) no later than Thursday night at 8pm or risk a major fine and be towed. In addition, WKU shuts down Parking Structure 2 (the newer one) for commuters allowing KHSAA fans to attend and use that structure. May not seem like a big deal to some, but when there are roughly 200 more permits than parking spots for students, it's a HUGE deal! They also in response to the locker room situation shut down a large portion of the on-campus gym so teams can dress there. One year, I was told by the tech guy who coordinates music and replays that WKU even allowed the KHSAA to use (FREE OF CHARGE MIND YOU) the actual laptop WKU uses for their athletic events. The program alone on that laptop is $2000 folks. Complain all you want, but WKU has bent over backwards to try and accommodate the KHSAA and the fans that attend that weekend. UofL and UK are too big to host this event. I would rather have a killer atmosphere and the game be exciting than go to a Power 5 Stadium where there's no atmosphere and no fun. Besides...what's more important: the athletes who are out on the field (who I have yet to hear a complaint from BTW) who have rode a bus for hours on end many times, or all of us who drive for 2-3 hours (or longer) to watch those kids who have worked hard to be there? I'm sure I'm going to get blasted by many on here for my comments, but I stand behind them. This isn't about us folks, it's about the coaches and athletes who have sweat, bled and worked to be there. I hear more complaints from the fans than I do the coaches and players...think about that one.
  13. FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD (and realize that my sources weren't the best) it all happened right in front of Green's bench after the officials had let things get overly chippy. LaRue's coaches pulled all the kids back and if the Hawks had any bench players leave the bench area, it wasn't but one or two, which is honestly still too many. With it being right in front of Green's bench, they had several leave from what I was told, and it took their coaches a long time to restore order on their side (some told me they never did). Again, all what I was told from others who were there. Also heard from a few others that Green had a kid turn around after order was restored and flip off the entire LaRue student section?! If that's true, then this may get ugly fast.
  14. Clinton Co, McCreary Central and Phelps all 3 are not placed in a district and will end their seasons this weekend. Those who were placed: Berea Hancock County Trimble County Allen Central Betsy Layne Trigg County LaRue County Moore Thomas Nelson Lewis County Pendleton County Morgan County* Knott Central* Magoffin County* (The 3 above are in a 3-way tie and are waiting on final tiebreaker to be official) Logan County Warren East North Oldham Marion County Russell County Mason County Boyd County East Carter Marshall County Nelson County Oldham County Iroquois Atherton Perry Central All (with the exception of 1 of the from 3A District 7 in the tie-breaker) above WILL NOT qualify for playoffs and either already have this past weekend or will this weekend end their seasons.
  15. I'm going to say 3-3 with Murray making the biggest statement. After last season's ending against DeSales, I have a sneaking suspicion the Tigers are looking to get on a roll and avoid a repeat in the playoffs. Murray upsets PT and goes on a roll into the playoffs.
