  1. They need a few youngsters to step up and replace some quality leaving seniors.
  2. Dayton will name their court after long time coach and educator Stan Steidel for his contributions to Kentucky sports for over 50 years, Congrats to Stan
  3. Seems like you're painting with a broad brush, Guru. There may always be a "lack of integrity" in each and every profession....coaches, teachers, law enforcement etc., but I'd venture to say most of these coaches have their integrity well intact. So I would contend that all the "Good" far supersedes any few "bad apples". And furthermore, you have no idea there was a lack of integrity....could have been a multitude of things that led to this result.
  4. I have no horse in this race, but at the end of the day, the division coaches rank the players on the ballot 1-12 using the point system. Many things are considered by the coaches I would think including how well they performed against that coach, each kids attitude(not saying anyone's is bad, as I don't know the kid), leadership etc., but it's not always most talent, but a combination of things on the court. The "player of the year" does not always equate to "most talented player". Furthermore, it only takes one coach to rank a kid low on the scale and that may impact where he ends up total vote wise. And as far as the comment that the NKBBCA is a joke, lets remember that these coaches give a lot of time, effort and scholarships to these kids, so I have to disagree that it is a "joke" Sounds sour grapes to me
  5. Personally, I think that answer lies in part with the School you coach at. Some School sadly feel it's all about wins, while other small Schools it may simply be about academics, discipline, sportsmanship and small goals. Many small School coaches know their chance of attaining "regional status" or State appearances is very slim
  6. Sorry...disagree. I'm old School and very aware there is no "over the back" call any more, however old habits are hard to break. A "push in the back" as it is likely now called is still "over the back for some who have been involved many years....yes semantics, but it's a stretch to say that someone who yells over the back don't know the rules
  7. New Coach......good returning talent for a small School. Should be competitive with their level
  8. Many coaches at smaller schools such as Dayton, and in particular Dayton, have done a "very good" job given the hand they have to play. It can never be about solely win/loss record at Dayton or a similar school. Very Good Job, and win/loss record simply don't go hand in hand in this instance. At a school like Dayton, every little positive is a win, whether it be competing for small conference titles, beating their rivals, playing well and progressing, or even having enough enrollment to have a true JV team separate from the V team. Everyone wants the W's, but realists understand the obstacles. Thus, I agree 110% with ESPNdeau above
  9. Getting "late in the game". Anyone know when interviews are scheduled and/or updates on candidates?
