  1. Dempsey has always had the tendency to disappear for large chunks of time. But you almost have to keep him in because of his ability to absolutely take over at any given moment .
  2. Linstead did a very nice job on Snow all night. Neither goal, nor the assist can he assume responsibility for. Snow got his assist off a free kick as it ricocheted off the post, bounce off the keeper, and was finished by a cooper player. His first goal game when the holy cross another defender, under no pressure, attempted to clear the ball but it turned into the a perfect assist as all Snow had to do was trap it take, a tap and fire away dead center of the goal. Snow's second goal game on a big clear from Cooper's defense. Yes he was in a foot race with Snow, but Snow also had a head start since Linstead assumed his sweeper was back there, as he should have been. When Linstead caught up, Snow was able to cut it back to his right using Linstead's momentum against him. And he scored. It may also be noted that Linstead was also pressing a little more forward during Snow's second goal. Holy Cross was down by a goal and it was under five minutes remaining in the game. Defense is played as a team. And on that night Linstead did his job well to support his team.
  3. Only the third goal was with a man down and after coach G pulled 3 of his starting defenders. However HHS clearly deserved the win.
  4. To be honest, the own goal was the result of HC's pressure. So credit is due to HC for the own goal.
  5. That "joke team" was coached by a "joker" who is now coaching at the next level....D1
  6. What are the 5 worst soccer pitches in NKY? Begin... 5. Conner 4. Brossart 3. Cov Latin 2. Villa 1. Cooper
  7. Maybe when I get over 1000 post on a blog about high school boys I'll finally have as much credibility as a YellowCard and OTB, but from what I see, a persona that has been painted by one person that others have taken the bait. HC does not have any high level club players, so yes they play physical. It's a varsity sport. It's also a contact sport. I have watched them all season and it makes me sick to watch grown men discredit any bit of achievement by calling them dirty players. As grown men we sit back and talk about how much tougher we were when we played, less equipment, fewer rules, blah blah blah. But then you complain when physicality is introduced into a game now a days. Cooper, CCH, and St. Henry parents better take a good hard look at their kids before casting stones at another team's. Their kids foul and foul hard too. Maybe you missed the part tonight where our "dirty" HC kids went and shook hands with St. Henry kids before even coming off the field. Don't mention that though. Just keep enjoying your adult life by typing away tearing down kids with outright lies. I'm gonna go to parent teacher conferences tomorrow and complain about how unfair my son's Spanish quizzes are. I'm gonna complain about how his history teacher doesn't give notes in a way I prefer. I'm going to complain that his math teacher doesn't give him enough time to do his work. Basically I'm going to tear down every teacher and make every excuse for my son because he can do no wrong. Are you catching my drift... Let's be adults. Good game St. Henry and good effort HC. Both teams came to compete. Thank The Lord for people like FutbolFan that call people out on false statements.
  8. First of all let me just say that this is my first, and likely my last, post on this Bluegrass Preps site. I have more important things to do with my adult life than have back and forth conversations with other grown men about high school boys. However, it has been brought to my attention that you are very adamant about taking this group of kids with their coaching staff, and running their names through the mud. I watched the same game you watched. The game was physical. The game was filled with the boys trash talking to one another. But, kids are kids. I know for a fact that HC’s coach pulled kids off the field to get them to keep quiet. I was also told by their statistician that he instructed the boys, at halftime, not to use their mouths, to just play the game. But again boys will be boys. In the heat of the competition there will be banter back in forth. It came from both sides, instigated by different players at different times. I have sons that play for and have played in the past for Coach Groneck and they both know that he does not tolerate his players saying anything to the opposing coaches. Yes, last night a comment was made from ONE player to the Cooper staff, but it was nothing vulgar, it was just more of a response to their statements to the official. That player was pulled immediately and reprimanded per my son. I also find it very hypocritical of you to quickly judge my son’s teammates and coaches when your team has quite possibly the most out of control player in NKY. Completely disregarding his coaches’ and referees’ instructions to settle down, stop throwing his temper tantrum, it spilled over into the parking lot, where he began shouting obscenities at parents getting into their cars. I guess all of that was provoked by a mediocre HC team. Maybe you should take another peak into your crystal ball (a.k.a. the grill people), where you find all your answers to see what the coaches think about the game that was played. The Cooper and HC coaching staff are friends. At one point a Cooper coach and HC coach gave a couple comments to one another as friends, but also competitors, nothing vulgar, nothing degrading, or aggressive. So maybe as a spectator you should leave it at that. Maybe you should leave your comments about what you certainly DO NOT know to yourself. Maybe you take a look into the mirror at yourself, at your kids’ actions, and be a role model yourself. You don’t know my son, you don’t know the HC team, and you certainly don’t know how to project an unbiased view of events if you can get on this site to paint your Cooper players as victims. Both teams played hard. Both teams fouled. No coach for either team teaches dirty play or verbal disrespect. Would it be fair for me to get on here and pass off the blame of every imperfection Coopers’ players exhibited on Coach Flesch? No. Coach Flesch coached my son WITH Coach Groneck and both are good role models for their players. I respect the kids, parents, and coaching staff of HC to allow you to get on here to drag their names and reputations through the mud. I’m embarrassed to post this. I feel as if I am sipping the kool-aid.
