  1. OC is very strong. Manual lost starting keeper and a key defender. However up top they are amazingly strong. OC may be one to watch.
  2. Manual has womens u17 national team star Emina eckic (SPELLING) as well as top 100 player Allison Whitfield. They work very well together. Their defense is very solid and their freshman keeper only gave up 6 goals playing more than half their games. Midfield should be full of retuning juniors. Very likely contender.
  3. What teams are out there that you think will be a strong contender this fall? I was surprised by S.Oldham last year, even knowing one of the girls, they came in under the radar. Lex Cath I suspect as well as seventh region will be strong again.
  4. Not nky but Manual freshman Delayna Holman strongest I've seen.Comes out strong, has great feet (alternate forward), good hands, and plays agressive. Six goals scored against her this year in 15 games. However many games were split with senior Molly Schroring(SP). One to watch.
  5. Sacred Heart has to get through Assumption and Manual, which thay should but not easily.
  6. Most of the post about Highlands ars from Highlands parents
  7. I learned a lot when I became a licensed ref, even after coaching and playing for oved thirty years. They are always looking for good officials, perhaps you would be willing to step forward and help? Perhaps the referee evaluators (yes, you must be evaluated to be a ref, and you must be a ref to be an evaluator) need to be more stringent and get rid of thesecbad refs, but then who would call your game?
  8. It always comes down to blaming the coach. But I wonder how many parents have taken the time to become a US Soccer licensed coach or referee. How many parents instead of laying blame and complaining have come forth and said, "what can I do to help? Team failure is more than losing games, it is about losing focus.
  9. An excessive amount of negative comments, about officials, players and other teams. Behavioral patterns of parents, does one really need binoculars to watch a high school game? Focus of parents on individual players and not on team play. Again why are half the posts here about Highlands?
  10. Just an outsider observation, and from watching just one game. The fans and parents seem a bit obsessive. Almost every other thread here is about HHS. Maybe they should realize it is just a game. It is there for the purpose of fun and comoderie of the girls. Bad games happen. Bad seasons happen. Bad teams ard made, and usually by infighting and bickering. My own daughter wants to leave her highly successful club team for these same reasons.
  11. The AR should be online with the ball or last defender. This often gives them the better view of shots on goal. It is their responsibility to determine if the ball crosses the goal line. Center ref calls possesion. It would not be improper to consult with the AR on a questionable shot. It could be possible that both may have been out of position.
  12. The girl that scored usually plays as a defensive back. Midfield was not their normal midfield. The two missing play center mid and forward. They had minimal subs. This team beat Tates Creek 4-0 preseason tourney, but that was preseason and coaches are settling on positions. Manual has a very young team. The majority are sophmores.
  13. The center ref controls the game and all laws are open to THEIR interpretation. Officiating can be good or bad but in essence it is the officials game.
  14. Manual was missing two very key players. Their center back played her first game in two weeks due to illness. Many players were in play at different positions than normal.
