I know when I went that if you played football you could request the earliest date so you didn’t miss very much if any football. All 3 programs start on different days and one I believe is a week ahead of the other two.

Call me crazy, but I think Puma can have success in this market. If a couple of these guys pan out big youíll start to see little kids walking around in Pumas.

No chance, but just imagining the idea for a second is really cool. I know UK nor UofL would do it, but it would be cool if they were road games. Imagine UK playing in Diddle or BB&T. That would be awesome and a really cool event.

Exactly. Those greens also don’t need to be rolling at a 13 to be difficult anyways and they definitely don’t need to be dried up just to get them rolling quick as possible. It’s silly. Again I’ll go back to Merion in 2013. The winning score was still +1 but the greens were impeccable and the course played fair. Let the golf course be the defense. There are plenty of US Open tracks that are plenty difficult without the USGA interfering I.e....

Saturday was essentially a superintendents revenge day coupled with the fastest greens on tour and hardest golf course on tour. As Bryson Dechambeau said, “it was clown golf.”

I LOVE shottracer and wish it was used like this for every shot of every tournament. Nothing worse than the typical face on view of the golfer or the ball flying in the air and is having no idea where it’s going.

Personally I thought it was funny and didn’t really have an issue with it. By rule he probably should have been DQed. I doubt he’ll face much backlash from the tour or sponsors. I honestly wish he would have spared the lame excuse and just said, “yeah I was ticked off and decided to let out my frustration and I really didn’t feel like walking down the hill after the ball.”

If you don’t understand the difference between greens in NKY and Shinnecock then what are we even doing here?

They purposefully dried out the greens. Did you watch any of the Open? The greens were brown because they hadnít been watering them. Usually the greens at Shinnecock are as green as Augusta.

No today was perfect. If you hit great shots like Tommy Fleetwood did all day you can post a really low number. But at the end of the day there were only 4 rounds of 67 or better with the majority still over par. That’s US Open golf. They watered the hell out of the greens last night and this morning to soften them up so players had a chance to keep the ball on the green with a wedge in their hand. That’s all anyone asks for. Stretch out the...

I don’t think you understand the difference between too hard and impossible. It was impossible yesterday. That’s not golf. Players shouldn’t walk off a green and say that ball rolled weird. If the ball doesn’t roll straight because the greens are too dried up and fast then you literally aren’t giving them a chance. I didn’t hear players saying they read a putt wrong or they didn’t stroke it well, they were walking off the green saying the ball...

They have a lot of microphones placed in the crowd this year so it picks up a lot of that noise we don’t normally hear.

It’s not that it’s too hard it’s that it was next to impossible yesterday. There is a difference between tough and unfair. The course itself isn’t too hard, but they made the conditions unfair. When the greens get as dry and fast as they were yesterday it’s like putting on glass. When you putt on surfaces like that the ball doesn’t roll straight.

The scores are going to be a lot lower today and I think we’ll get a winner who shoots under par. Fowler went out in 31 this morning. I really like Justin Rose’s chances today.

Basically his putt was going to roll all the way off the green and he would have to chip back up and it would have been a very difficult chip so he decided to hit a moving ball and take the 2 stroke penalty that accompanies the act instead of having to hit the chip back up the hill. I don’t really have a problem with it but its definitely one of those spirit of the rules things that I personally don’t think Phil should have done.

I for one would like to go back to a traditional US Open Course like Merion. Merion is probably the shortest course on tour <7000 yards, but it’s true US Open golf to me. Tree lined fairways, tight fairways, and DEEP actual rough not fescue everywhere. The scores were similar in 2013 as they are this year, but the difference is the course wasn’t stupid. It’s just insanely difficult to hit good shots at Merion, but when it happens they were...

Iím all for watching these guys struggle. It makes them seem human. But this isnít fun to watch. Like professor said, great shots should be rewarded. Iím all for it being extremely penal if you miss it slightly, but not this. Iíd venture to say we could take the best 5 golfers in BGP and not one of us break 100 on this course today.

PG is an elite talent, but his presence doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet. Much like Kawhi honestly. PG was a dominant player in Indiana. He doesn’t mesh well with Westbrook though IMO.

My point was simply it doesn’t matter WHERE the venue is it’s thd venue itself that is important. It’s not important to know that Shinnecock is on Long Island or Torrey Pines is in SoCal just like it doesn’t matter that Wrigley Field is in Chicago. The venue is what matters. If Wrigley Field and the Cubs organization were in Columbus, OH it wouldn’t make it less historic than it is in Chicago.

We don’t know the whole story but I agree he doesn’t come out of this smelling like roses. He’s still arguably the best defender in the league and MVP caliber player when he’s healthy.
