I guess I kind of agree with you on the fact that you are somewhat limited by your natural ability, but then I watch guys like Rory and JT who are 5’8 140 pounds soaking wet and pump the ball out there 320 yards. That’s not natural that’s earned from hours upon hours of practice and examining every part of their swing to maximize their ability to hit a golf ball a long way. But again we’ll just have to agree to disagree. I think it clearly shows...

What teams have a shot at the playoff? Any breakout teams this year I.e. FAU 2017? In this we can also discuss Notre Dame and where they fit into the playoff equation.

This may offend some people, but Malone’s is vastly overrated. Don’t get me wrong it’s still really good, but it can’t hold a candle to any of Ruby’s restaurants or Ruth Chris. When Ruby’s opens in Lexington I don’t think I will ever have a reason to eat at Malone’s again.

What do you consider skill? Is it something you’re born with or something you develop over time? I think for any athlete that is able to play a sport professionally they are born with a certain skill level. But besides that I think skill is something you develop. Steph Curry was born with the ability to be able to shoot a basketball, he developed into the greatest shooter of all time. He wasn’t born to be the greatest shooter of all time, he...

The players are better because of the technology. I donít think that there are just more naturally great golfers or athletes in general now a days. I just think we know how to better train athletes from a young age and groom them to become the athletes they are now. From nutrition, to training regimens, to technology. As we learn more and more, the athletes themselves get better and better. Golf is not the best example because the equipment...

There is no measuring stick. Golfers are better due to the technology and information in 2018. If you give golfers 20-30 years ago that same information they may be as good or better than the players of today. We simply don’t know. But you would have to train each of the golfers from different eras the exact same way, with the exact same technology in order to see a difference. But these young guys on tour now had swing coaches from an extremely...

Yes it does factor into skill. It’s not just training to be bigger, stronger, and faster it’s also the information on things to develop your skills. Especially in a sport like golf. If you gave players from the past the same information and technology as the players from today then it would be easy to debate because they would be on a level playing field. Golf has largely been played on the same courses for a long time so we could just compare...

It’s both. Players are better now do to the fact that they have more information and technology at their hands than ever before. There are also way more really good players than ever before.

I’ll definitely give you that, equipment has a lot to do with it, but everyone is playing the same equipment on tour today and the volume of really good players is more than it’s ever been in the past. Yeah would it be cool to see how Jack Nicklaus would have played with a modern Driver, sure. Does it mean he would have won more majors with it? No because everyone else would have still been on the same playing field.

Every single major sport the players are better today than they were in any prior generation. Even just 10-20 years ago. Baseball is weird because we had the whole steroid era going so who really knows how great those guys were, but I’m not afraid to say it, Mike Trout may be the most talented baseball player to ever walk this earth. I just don’t see how with the information we have available in 2018 we can say that athletes of prior generations...

Forgot DJ was that old. The reason that no one is dominating majors is because there are so many players capable of winning majors now. We’re just going to have to agree to disagree on the subject. But the idea that players in every other sport are better now than prior generations except in golf is crazy to me.

JT, DJ, Spieth, Rory, Day, Reed, Koepka, Rahm, Dechambeau, Fleetwood, Rickie. These are just the guys 30 and younger. That doesn’t include guys like Rose, Stenson, Bubba. You won’t find anyone who knows the ins and outs of the golf world who thinks their were better players in the late 90’s early 00’s than there are now. The fact that there are so many great young players now is because of Tiger. Tiger is part of the reason guys like DJ and...

Tiger won his last major with his B game. Koepka may not ever play better, but that was also Tigers best weekend at a major ever and he still lost.

Tigers B game in his prime years was equal to most of the players on tours A game. That’s not the case anymore.

Golf is too difficult of a sport to say just because someone leading after 54 holes and loses means they folded under pressure. They probably just played poorly. Also sometimes someone behind you just plays really well. Brooks had a 4 shot lead on Tiger after 54 holes. If Brooks shoots 69 on Sunday he loses because Tiger shot a 64. 69 isn’t a bad round of golf but sometimes you just have to tip your cap.

Nobody is rooting harder for Tiger than I am, and his A game may still be better than anyone else, but his B game is simply not enough anymore. He needs four rounds of his A game every week to win and he only brought it for 3 days at the PGA.

They may feel the pressure but it doesn’t bother them. They don’t change their game to accomodate the pressure they feel. They just go out a play golf. Brooks may have well been playing a casual Sunday round with his buddies as opposed to winning the PGA.

Tiger won majors with his B game before. That’s the biggest difference between Tiger now and Tiger then. He can’t win majors with his B game anymore. Nobody on tour can win majors with their b game.
