Clemsons schedule is tragically bad. Their best win going into the conference champ game will be at likely 4 loss Texas A&M. They play absolutely nobody. I actually think Clemson has to go undefeated this year to make the playoff. A 1 loss Clemson loses the resume argument to a 1 loss champ in any other conference, A one loss non SEC champ, a 1 loss non conference champ in Ohio State/Penn State, and I think they may even lose the argument to a 1...

Taggert has the easiest path. The talent is already there, they are in a fertile recruiting ground. The biggest question is actually Taggert. Frost has the toughest test. He’s in a recruiting desert. No recent history of success. Of the 3 though, Frost may be the best coach. The answer to me is Chip Kelly. Proven winner. Fertile recruiting ground. Expectations from fan base are minimal. In the worst division in the power 5. Taggert has to...

It’s not as easy as it once looked. LSU and Miss State are better than people thought they would be. Alabama is much better than both of those teams, but their schedule isn’t cake. Especially when compared to some other schools.

It should be tried the same, but I’d imagine if Heils lawyers could determine that being on his phone was the cause of the accident instead of drinking, it may result in a much lesser sentence. Am I wrong? To me, his punishment should be the same regardless, but I’m not sure if legally it would be viewed that way.

UK has a pretty recent history of having zero tolerance for hazing. I know Phi Delt and Pike have been kicked off in recent years. Both have been allowed back on since, but they had to refound the chapters with 100% new members.

Agree 100%. This kind of stuff shouldn’t happen. Fraternities can be a great thing for a lot of people. But it’s the culture around events like this that needs to be changed.

100% full of crap. Still the fact that he blew a .051 leads me to believe he was probably a distracted driver not a drunk driver. I think texting is maybe a more likely cause of the event than drinking. The penalty should be the same either way.

I don’t know what to make of either of these teams. Stanford’s passing game looks much improved from last year, but Bryce Love has been shut down/ injured so far. Oregon has a future first round QB with Justin Herbert but hasn’t played anyone yet and they have a new coach so we have no idea what to expect with them. Stanford should win this game, but Autzen Stadium is maybe the toughest stadium to play in the Pac 12. I’ll go Stanford, but Oregon...

UK has suspended Jacob Heil and his fraternity, ATO. This is not really a surprise. It won’t be long before this is national news. The situation outlined in what I’ve read so far it was an “unofficial, official tailgate” that the fraternity held. The members had to pay to have drinks bought for the tailgate and the pledges, including Heil, had to handle the alcohol. Heil said he had 2 beers in the morning but hadn’t had anything since since. He...

Everyone has 2-3 losses except for Bama who loses at LSU in a game where Tua throws 3 picks.

And vice versa. You still never answered what Miami has shown to say they are good. You keep telling me “Wisconsin lost to BYU”, but what has shown you Miami would beat BYU or any other team for that matter?

Wisconsin is good. Unless you think who they have been in the past isn’t good as well. Then your qualification for good only includes 6-7 teams every year.

That’s exactly what my model is designed to do. I’m not a gambler, but I’m looking at this from a gamblers perspective. If Miami/ Wisconsin played tomorrow and I had to drop a meaningful amount of money on the game I’m choosing Wisconsin 10/10 times. It would be foolish for me to make that decision based solely on this season. That’s not the way this works. It’s about measuring risks. Wisconsin is still a more manageable risk than Miami. We have...

What has Miami done this year to say they ARE better than Wisconsin? Not lose to BYU? They haven’t played BYU. They’ve played LSU and 2 duds. Wisconsin has been consistently better than Miami for over a decade. One game in one season doesn’t change that IMO.

Not without more information. Clearly we evaluate teams differently. Your model discredits a team for one bad game. My model examines a multitude of factors that includes, but is not limited to, past performances in recent seasons.

I agree. But just because you lose to a non P5 team doesn’t make you worse than that non P5 team. If that’s what you believe then you’re no better than the people who ACTUALLY think UCF deserved to be in the playoffs last year or could have kept the game within 4 scores with any of the playoff teams.
