  1. Opportunities are there for everyone who wants them, more so for those who aren't privileged. It's a mindset and a choice that makes one "privileged". We can agree to disagree and leave it at that as far as I'm concerned.
  2. There's only one, Belfry Middle School. All other schools are K-5, K-6, K-8, 7-12 or 9-12. The exceptions are Phelps ES and HS, they are K-6 and 7-12 respectively. Belfry feeders are K-5, BMS is 6-8, and BHS is 9-12. Pikeville independent is set up the same as Phelps as of now. Rumor has it the Belfry area will eventually have one K-8 school feeding into BHS as Blackberry is expected to close following the 16-17 school year. As the phases of construction continue the speculation is that Bevins and BMS will follow suit and eventually occupy the Varney/Southside flood zone. If you're from Belfry you know exactly what I mean.
  3. I just read all of this again, and I'm still in awe. This young man is a blessed individual. Unbelievably talented.
  4. Congrats to Mr. Blanton on all of his accomplishments, but most of all on his commitment to our Lord and Savior. I'll definitely be following him through college and I hope he has a fantastic career in whatever he chooses.
  5. Trinity v BG Belfry v CAL J Central v L Central Lafayette v Beechwood FS v Pulaski Danville v Hazard I'd like to see Belfry and/or JC v Lafayette or BG as well. My main reason for wanting to see Belfry v CAL is because it would be a rematch of the 2012 KMSFA DIV II State Championship tilt. I'm sure it would be a better game this time around.
  6. You can only put 11 on the field at a time. Very few of our kids play both ways.
  7. Privileged?? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Everyone I know in every state of this nation who has something to be proud of worked their tails off for it. Don't give me that privileged crap. Is it a shame that kids are born to parents who refuse to make a better life for themselves? Absolutely! It's almost as bad as those people having the right to breed. But don't give me that "privileged" crap, that's a cop out excuse for not having enough testicular fortitude to act the way a man is supposed to act. That sickens me.
  8. Derek Wellman and Chase Dove had monster games! Devin Varney and Austin Woolum made some great plays, too. And our O-Line showed exactly why they're so highly touted. Great team effort all the way around. Hats off to Central for playing until the time ran out. Gotta respect that!

  10. You're exactly right on all that you said, especially the holding at the end of the game on Central's last few possessions. Every one of our D-lineman and DE's were held on about every play. On one 4th down conversion the Central RB tackled Grayson Cook and it was within two yards of the ref. I don't like to mention officiating with regard to any game but a referee's job is to call the game as if the score is 0-0 at all times. But that didn't happen last night. Thankfully our kids were composed because they have great men leading them in our coaching staff or that could've gotten a little out of hand a la Trinity/Lafayette.
  11. Thank you Louisville Trinity for raising the bar for the rest of KY football teams. When this many people are complaining you're doing something right. And yes I know exactly how the Louisville school enrollment is done, and if I lived in Louisville my children would either be there or CAL.
  12. The first year we came to BG I asked a Highlands fan if it ever gets boring or if complacency really does sit in. He looked at me with a dead serious face, slight grin, and said no, it really doesn't. I said to myself, yeah right. But only now do I know that he was EXACTLY right.
  13. I don't know exactly how old Coach Wallace is but he'll finish this season with 290 wins at a school they realistically wins at least 13 wins a season. So yes, he has a legitimate shot albeit a long shot.
  14. Kevin Wallace at BG is the only coach I think has a legitimate shot if he chooses to stay with it that long.
