  1. Pure Joke. Spectators.... Attend Friday/Saturday.. Sunday will be a cake walk for whomever wins the bottom half of the bracket.
  2. I was proud of Mercy. Power hitter, Meckle, went out early with back spasms but Burke, who has been out with an ankle injury, came in and provided quality minutes. I look forward to watching Mercy when everybody's healthy. Go Jags!
  3. It will be interesting. NDA should be number 1 until someone in-state knocks them off. Watched NDA play Cardinal Gibbons and will agree they are much better with Morgan in the line up. Mercy is improving and will be more in sync. Home court advantage will help NDA along with the revenge factor. I suspect the NDA crowd will be in full force to support the Panda's. Mercy's youngsters should be used to playing in a hostile, loud environment by now, so the impact should be minimal. I will be cheering for Mercy! Go Jags!
  4. Clearly, Mercy was out of step last night. Mistakes were made by younger players as can be expected but some of the seasoned players also found themselves playing below standard last night. It happens. There is a lot of top talent on this team and it will take some time to blend it into a volleyball team. Last year's team had down games at times too. However, their down games were still better than most other teams best games. That's not the case yet with this young team. This team has champions on it and they will not settle for mediocre play like last night.
  5. I was there. Mercy didn't play mercy ball. Simple as that. Still adjusting to new teammates and coach. Burke out with ankle injury. They will be fine but they will experience bumps and bruises along the way. All learning experiences. Watch out come tournament time.
  6. The first ranking by KVCA is out. A bit surprised to see Assumption at the top instead of ND or SHA. Overall, I think we will see shuffling of the top 4 throughout the year and the eventual state champ will come from these top four. Based on history, that's not a hard prediction really. Any other insights, surprises, over ranking, under rankings, or omissions?
  7. I am in Louisville and both of mine (17 and 10) started in first grade playing an organized game and practicing once per week. Both started club at 10 and 9, respectively.
  8. The younger (mid teens)Lexington United club teams this year were stronger than years past. This may translate into stronger high school teams in the near future.
  9. We can bark all we want on this site but in the end, it doesn't matter. I think Mercy will be there in the end. Sacred Heart will be tough as will Notre Dame. Assumption may have another down year. Listen to me. A down year at Assumption. That's a record breaking year at most other schools. Anyway, good luck to all teams and may the best one win.
  10. Next year's Mercy team will be a championship contender. Mark my words. Next year's Seniors all know how to win and have won consistently not only with Mercy but with Mava, Kiva and Union. The incoming Sophomore group is strong and the "to be" Juniors are great players. Synergy with the new coach will be the challenge but Mercy will find a class act, great coach and leader. I expect great things.
