Boone County intra-squad scrimmage is Wednesday, April 24 at 7 pm. I suppose that is the same as a spring game. There is a "Meet the Coach" at 6 pm for the parents.

You won't get an argument from me about whether the government is required to do so. Of course, there is no law against taking your community's culture into account when planning events. Failing to give these kinds of things any consideration is, well, inconsiderate, like offering a free lunch buffet as a morale booster to employees of a public school in Detroit during the month of Ramadan. There certainly isn't any law against it but I...

Nope, but Boone County has their prom on 4/20. And to boot, it is Easter weekend with Sonrise services the next day. It makes no sense why they schedule prom on Easter weekend.

UKMustangFan, to you and your family... “The Lord bless you and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26

I understand that you did not vilify this kind of privilege. I was not clear in my previous post #36, but when I asked that question at the end of the post, I was not referring to you but generalizing the question. I actually agree with what you said in post #31. Again, sorry I was not clear. Yes, being born into a good family is a "privilege." It is the kind of "privilege" that in my first post I said "is the way it is meant to be." I...

Yes. That is my point. Privilege is often spoken of as a bad thing. It is when a millionaire uses his wealth to get around the law. But there is a "privilege" that is bestowed by one generation on the next through good decisions, good values, and consistent behavior. These things reap benefits that bring positive consequences for them and their offspring. For instance, I know an immigrant family that came to the United States for a...

Here's an update from Lloyd Memorial. In addition to the fine young men mentioned above, Lloyd Memorial High School reports... TE/DL Bradley Turner signed with the Wilmington College Quakers. C/NT Ajay Pelep signed with the University of Pikeville Bears.

I'm not sure what is meant by "privilege" by most people in this thread. Usually, the context in which I hear the term used it seems to be something negative or unjust, an advantage unfairly given to one person that denies another deserving person an opportunity. I suppose there are various scenarios where this is played out. Let me share an occasion where I benefited from "privilege." When I got my first full-time, adult job (meaning...

Once Johnny Manziel signed an agreement to play in the AAF about 10 days ago it was virtually guaranteed the AAF would fold.
