Sometimes it's suggested that the coaches play guys who are on the sidelines instead of who the coach has out there. It is my opinion that the coaches already know the talent on the team from seeing them play in spring ball and all summer long. If you put the guys in the game who are standing on the sidelines, whatever situation you had on the field will just go from bad to worse. Sometimes it is just an issue of maturity. The guys on...

Merge with Boone County and you instantly have 90 kids on the team and enough talent to go around. Now seriously, I don't think there is anything you can do this year. The problem isn't the coach. You keep doing what you do to get the kids ready for each game. You have to keep the players spirits up so they don't give up and don't give in to negativity. I wish I knew how to get more boys to come out for the team. Boone Co has the...

Turned on the TV when it was already 30-0. Glad to see Michael Spencer on the field for Cooper as a DE. What has been the ratio of passes to runs for the SK offense? Is it about the same as they do in every game?

HSfootballfan18, The first 3 offensive series took the wind out of their sails for some time. The S Oldham defense didn't allow them to gather themselves at all. They kept the pressure on. Some of the Boone play-makers were not at their best. And the S oldham offense has too many ways to beat you. Boone Co has been down for some time. They are a young team. Last year's team had 24 or 25 seniors. We played much better against them...

Congratulations to S Oldham. They are a fine football team. They have good size all across the board, except the RB #21 who makes up for it with quickness and speed. The line is huge. S Oldham controlled the LOS on both sides of the ball. The Boone FB couldn't get through the line without a D-lineman around his legs and a LB or Safety hitting him high. The problems began with Boone's opening offensive series when FB fumbled the ball on...

I can't make any promises about the outcome of the game but I did what I could about the weather. It should be a nice evening for your first-in-while Boone Co football game, HSfootballfan18. All you folks travelling from Oldham County can thank me tomorrow.

No they do not but if you're at the game I guarantee you'll hear me all the way across to the visitor's sideline and then you'll catch the echo when the sound waves bounce back off Meijer's, LA Fitness, and Home Depot across the freeway. It's going to be a beautiful night for football.

For a lot of teams the extra point is a crap shoot. They don't spend much time practicing it and it shows. Some don't even know how to block for it. And, yes, to whoever said it. Many teams just have a soccer player as their kicker... it has become very specialized. I've seen this work well and I've seen it not work so well. I don't quite get why a high school team would have a kicker that is lousy at extra points and can't kick the...

It's kind of counter-intuitive when you consider that rules changes allow the OLine to hold. You would think they would win more of those battles not less.

I don't favor long distance games. I saw that Lloyd was playing Marion County and considered that too far. When I was in H.S. my wrestling team made a three hour bus ride for simultaneous dual meets. Even now, as soon as I get in a car I have trouble staying awake. I was so sluggish by the time we got there all I wanted to do was lay down. Somehow I managed to win both of my matches but I don't think my demeanor inspired much confidence...

We were for a while. Model ran off to Baltimore. That has contributed to the problems faced by the Browns ever since. I think we may finally be climbing out of the hole. See Terry Pluto's False Start: How the New Browns Were Set Up to Fail

I believe that is the very one. I first heard about it in Christianity Today, Jan. 8, 2014. According to the article, this study is being confirmed by other studies launched since Woodberry's findings were published. Yet so far, over a dozen studies have confirmed Woodberry's findings. The growing body of research is beginning to change the way scholars, aid workers, and economists think about democracy and development.

This is wide of the mark on many counts. Just one point, Christianity has always elevated the plight of women everywhere it was introduced. Women's rights originated with Christians. There was a sociological study done in a peer reviewed professional journal which demonstrated that everywhere "Protestant conversionary missionaries" go and preach the Gospel, the level of freedom experienced by the population, education, women's rights,...

This was an incredibly entertaining game. The score was tied 0-0 at half. The first half started with Dixie dictating play and moving the ball towards Boone's goal. But Boone soon picked up their intensity and the half played out pretty evenly. Dixie struck first early in the second half when a nice ball was played through two Boone defenders and a Dixie forward took the pass in stride outside the box and struck the ball into the net. ...

Hamm was not blaming any one person's sin for the hurricane or any one population's sin (such as the Barbuda islanders) for causing the hurricane. In fact, he wasn't even blaming the collective sin of the entire world's population for this particular hurricane or any other natural disaster. He was making the point that according to Christian (and Hebrew theology) the world was created a paradise. When the first human's lifted themselves up...

That is a good point. Their line was actually rated pretty high going into the season (before they even played a down). I think a few of those sacks can be attributed to a rookie qb in his first game holding the ball too long. However, the Browns didn't run very well either.

Can't they just drop the ball where they stand? The ref isn't always nearby. A 15-yard penalty for tossing the ball in the air out of exuberance is a bit much. It doesn't effect a play like, say, holding does. That's only 10 yards.

Last year these teams played a fairly even game until into the fourth quarter. S. Oldham led at the half 10-8. It was 20-14 pretty late in the game and then S. Oldham got two quick scores to make it 35-14 for the final. Reports were that it was a hard hitting game last year with both teams fighting hard. FootballBobcat, how would you compare this year's Dragons team compared to the 2016 Dragons? This year's Rebels are an...

This game will show how good Campbell Co is. In my mind, they are the underdog even though they are having a good year. Ryle has a good defense despite what Cov Cath did to them. With the adjustments made on offense, Ryle will improve each week. That translates into an ability to score often and quickly. I think this game will show future opponents how to slow down the Camels offense. While I expect Campbell Co to put up a fight and give a...
