If New Cath has a power run game it could be a long night for Scott. Boone's line opened holes for Boone RBs in the power set and it appeared they could do this all night. After one series of doing that Boone switched to a different offensive set and had more difficulty against Scott's defense. Perrin is a legit back for Scott. He has good speed and is hard to bring down. He will break tackles with his stiff arm or at least get a few...

I haven't been able to find a word about what the NFL will do in response to him being pulled over at 3 am with a suspended license and a small amount of marijuana being found under the seat and parts of a gun and some ammo in the car. He was charged with a "minor misdemeanor." He has a past. I hope he can stay on the field because he has some explosiveness.

That is correct regarding last preseason's undefeated record. Winning preseason games is not necessarily reason to get excited but what happens in those games can be. For instance, individual players who did good things and show development and promise, like Antonio Callaway. Qbs who threw accurate passes, including the rookie. Apparent progress made by TE Njoku over last year. WR Rashard Higgins finally making positive plays on special...

This was the score for the first half. JV teams took over after the half. There were no returns on kick-offs or punts. Receivung team caught the ball and the play was over. Offense took over on the 35 on kicks and where caught on punts. On the first series for Scott, Perrin had a nice run when he bounced outside and Boone had no contain. He raced about 40 yards to the endzone. He looked pretty solid to me. I think he is bigger than...

What were some of the issues cited by him that point to Hue being a terrible leader? Many sportswriters in Cleveland were/are very disappointed the Browns did not fire Hue after his horrendous 1st two years as Head Coach. Not all of it can be explained by the complete tear-down in talent that the Front Office orchestrated. So goes many stories written in Cleveland during and after the season.

It varies with coaches. But I will tell you that nobody can count the number of tackles a player makes like a father who slows each play down and goes frame by frame to see who made the tackle. And when in doubt, give the tackle to your son. :lol2:

So... you were a little enthusiastic in your reporting of stats. But I certainly agree he is among the areas best LBs, top five and maybe top two. He was recognized last season on the 1st team defense by NKAFC. For the record, his # of tackles in last four games of his sophomore season were 14, 10, 9, and 6 for a total of 39 in 4 games, not too shabby. He had 60 total tackles in 13 games on the season. This does not take away from...

I can see there being no funding for sports like is happening to other programs, like band. Zonelife, can you describe what AAU football would look like. Is this something you've heard talked about or are you raising the possibility and wondering if people would support it?

Did they show the "confrontation" between Hue and a couple of the Assistant Coaches who didn't like Hue giving time off to some who were nursing minor injuries? Haley especially called it out and basically Hue said it was his team. When they get their team they can do it the way they want.

I can't speak for other religions but as for Christianity, Paul's statement in Romans 13 can NOT be interpreted as self-serving because it was written by someone who suffered at the hands of the government at the time and not by someone who was wielding the power of government on his own behalf or people he identified with. Paul would be executed by that same Roman government, as were many other Christians of the day and in the immediately...

I wish Rankin had not stopped playing football for a while. He's a big, athletic guy. He will be hard to cover for smaller DBs. Played QB when I saw him as a freshman. I noticed England's stiff arm last year. He also has a low center of gravity with powerful legs. I think he could have a really good year for Ryle. And finally, Ryle is the team to beat in Boone County. All three of the other programs are coming back from difficult...

And, btw, it isn't a given that the senior FB will get the majority of the carries. I expect there will be two or three other backs getting significant carries, including a sophomore that they are grooming for the future. Last season, there were several games where the FB kind of disappeared out of the offense. He was used primarily as a blocker, or they put in a different package utilizing smaller and quicker guys. I am anxious to see what...

A thousand yards may be a lot to ask for a kid who had 381 yards last season and will play a major role in stopping the opposition at MLB, and be the kicker, and also personal protector on punt team and run downfield and make the tackle. However, he did average over 5 yards a carry last year, primarily between the tackles, and just about everybody in the stadium knew when he was going to get the ball. But who knows, if he goes for a thousand...

Do you mean there's more to the AFC North than Cleveland? :ylsuper: You gotta go with what you know. Seriously, I'm counting on other posters to weigh in with a bit of info from other teams. My main intent is to see where people think things will shake out in the AFC North. I thought King's comments regarding Pittsburgh and Baltimore were interesting. His thought that Cleveland could go 3-3 in the division is a bit optimistic in my...

I applaud you for beginning a discussion on a difficult subject. You may learn how some of us feel when we try to ask honest questions in a discussion about race. I agree with you concerning the level of dysfunction in many relationships makes it hard to know who is the aggressor, except for in a particular instance when it turns to physical violence. The psychology of a victim in an abuse case is beyond my skill set. Why do they...

Peter King of SI was in Cleveland the other day where he gave an interview to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. It seems he follows her to stay up-to-date on the Browns. King mentioned he was in Pittsburgh the day before and he asked them about the teams in their division. A couple of guys who have been in Pittsburgh for a long time and who Peter King trusts told him they thought Cleveland was "pretty good". King said because over the last...

An article in the NKYTribune quotes Head Coach Marty Steele as saying the O-line is much improved over last season. He goes so far as to say that it is one of the best lines he's ever coached. Coach Steele is usually pretty blunt so he must think this line is quite good. That is good news. 218 Prep Football Previews: Boone County seniors want to end high school careers on winning team | NKyTribune

I had in mind a recent story where a group of homeless people in Cinci had a list of demands on the city that included, leaving them alone, and giving them porta potties and showers. In addition, there was a recent story about the police clearing out an encampment underneath one or more of the overpasses. Here's a link to the story: Third Street homeless have a list of demands for Cincinnati

It's a thorny issue. You want to help them, but making it easier for them to stay on the street is probably not a good way to approach it because of unintended consequences. Helping them address the issues that led them to be homeless is probably a more effective way, addressing things like mental illness, and addiction issues. If someone is homeless because they have had an incredible string of bad luck, helping them get on their feet...

Our church has hosted several groups who travel from far away, stay for a few days and take in the Ark and the Creation Museum. Some look for other stuff to do in the area, Newport Aquarium, etc. I've been to the Ark one time when family came in town. I had to push a make-shift wheelchair all around and I can tell you that is one big boat. There is a lot to see, if you are like me and read every plaque at a museum, so I could take a couple...

On this one occasion, rjs4470, I agree with you. Last year, I sat at a table at a football banquet with a former AD and coach of Walton/Verona and asked him why they weren't in the NKAC and he explained it but I can't remember what he said. Glad I could clear that up.
