Not counting the pickup truck and other vehicles that I drove while on my friend's farm, it was a 1965 Ford Galaxy 500, 352 V8. I was 15 years old and had to feed the pony morning and evening. It was in a stall at a neighboring farm and had about 9 acres to roam. So I drove up there each morning and evening. Squealed the tires every chance I got. There wasn't much chance of getting caught by the sheriff out in the boonies. And my parents...

I bought a used vehicle from a dealer. The dealer includes free car washes and oil changes with the purchase. I used to do it myself. My vehicle gets washed a lot more now.

Concordia University of Ann Arbor scored 22 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to defeat Olivet Nazarene University 22-14 in an NAIA contest that was punctuated by injury. Having received the opening kickoff, CUAA opened by throwing on two consecutive downs earning a 1st down on their own 40-yard line. After a run was stuffed with a one-yard gain, CUAA QB Roger Engle scrambled and tried a lateral that was at the feet of the RB. Olivet...

SX1250.1, I agree with you 100% that CUAA did not look like a #6 team. There are several reasons for that. Let me enumerate them. 1. They are not a #6 team. I think the coaches poll placed them too high. They had a great season last year, losing in the second round of the playoffs. But Marian (IN) is ranked one spot below them. I saw both teams last year and Marian was the better team. Marian won in the head-to-head contest 48-17. I...

I think your statistic has to do with cases that come to trial. My understanding is that there are many more rape allegations that do not go to trial because the police investigation deems them not credible or lacking in evidence. If that is true, then the percentage of false rape allegations are much higher. A quick google search led to an abstract of a study in a small midwestern town where 41% of rape allegations were false. The study...

Did anyone see why it was a civil lawsuit and not a criminal charge? A different question: was she claiming he forced her or otherwise used violence or is it a case of Me Too where a person in a position of power takes advantage of it to seduce someone who wants a job? It is odd, to me, that this would only be a civil suit, if true. While AB is not a likable person, I am waiting to see what develops before forming an opinion.

I didn't enter into the "Cleveland is a Super Bowl contender" hype. They hadn't played a game together with the current lineup. I am of the "show me" mindset. I do believe they are a pretty good team. Before week 1, I wouldn't have been surprised if they come in third in their conference. But I do believe they are much better than they were and will still have a good season, just over .500. I would guess 9-7. Five sacks against the...

The NAIA #6 Concordia Cardinals from Ann Arbor bested the (D2) Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday. Neither team could do much in the first half as the Cardinals led 10-0 at the half. The Cardinal defense was stout holding the Panthers to -17 yards rushing and only 163 yards through the air for the game. CUAA's #1 QB left the game with what appeared to be a quad injury. Although he did not return in the game, he looked like...

Does anyone know how the kid from Ryle is doing on Toledo, OL Parker Bisek? I see he is on the roster. He had a shoulder injury last year and so he didn't join the team until the spring.

The Concordia Cardinals of Ann Arbor are travelling to Owensboro to take on the Panthers in Steele stadium. The Cardinals are ranked #6 in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 poll. They were 10-3 last season and made it to the second round of the NAIA playoffs with their balanced offensive attack that averaged 400 yards per game and 33 points. The Panthers, 3-7 last season, averaged 20 ppg and 240 yards. The Panthers have a new Head Coach in former...

Lloyd lost a lot of talent to graduation. Boone lost some talent and leadership from last year's seniors, but not as much as Lloyd. Boone had some solid sophomores starting last season who are stepping up this year. I like the defense I saw from Boone in the last half of the Holmes games. But Lloyd's win over Walton Verona and a low score loss against Scott speak for them in this contest. This game may be in doubt late in the game,...

Beechwood got out to an early lead then Paintsville started to come back. At one point before the half the score was 14-13 Beechwood. The blue Tigers went ahead in the 4th quarter, up 19-14. Beechwood mounted a drive with just over 5 minutes remaining in the game. They got down to the Paintsville 6 yard line. I believe it was third down and Beechwood snapped the ball. The pass rush was on, RB/CB Cole Stammer went through a crease and...

Ryle was playing a very difficult opponent in all phases of the game. Perhaps another week will allow them to regroup and have an opportunity to play "their game." The QB may have more opportunity to get into the flow of the game which will help his production. The RBs may have more opportunity to run north and south instead of stringing it out to the sideline. This combination will allow Ryle to be more competitive this week, offensively. ...

But do you know why it is used? In case you don't, a poster will use this (ttt) when a thread has not been commented on for a while and they want it to go to the top of the line of threads with new posts so it is seen again and has another chance to generate discussion.

Thanks for your thoughts here. I haven't seen Cooper yet this year but when I heard he moved to WR I wondered how having him touch the ball fewer times would be a positive, unless the new QB was already a finished product. Speaking of staff, someone mentioned Cooper's defense earlier, I heard there is a new but very familiar face on the defensive side of the ball, no?

The big news of this game is the size of the crowd. I have never seen a Boone stadium this full. The parking lot was so full they were parking in any spot of open grass that could be found all the way out to the tennis courts along Burlington Pike. I have never seen it like this at Boone. Years ago when I first moved here I heard about Boone football, the good old days with Sean Alexander, etc. Then I went to the game and my first...

As to interest in soccer on BGP, several of the more prolific and knowledgeable posters have kids that aged out of their high school programs. Mine did from Boone in 2016. As someone who never played soccer, I was passionate about the sport when my kids played but now that they're not I will sometimes go out of curiosity, but the passion is not there. Not like it is for other sports that I have had some personal experience in playing.
