  1. I agree , Garrison and Pig had great games, thought Perkins played great in the first half. I believe his presence on defense made a big difference tonight and also Tuesday night against Bracken. Heartbreaking loss for Mason Co but have to tip my hat to Augusta on fighting to the end and winning a hard fought game.
  2. Well I guess I must respond to this one, ok first of all if you read what I said , I stated that St Pat had a nice gym, I was in no way putting it down, second, I don't care if it's played at the fieldhouse or not, I said it should be played at the largest gym in the district regardless of where it's at . I think , as I said in my first post, Bracken Co did a good job with what they have to work with. Tonight was a great game, no matter where it was played. Just think it would be nice to not set like sardines and have to park and ride a bus. It is what it is but I guarantee more people come see that game if it's at the bigger gym. Just my opinion. Lastly I did play high school ball and as a matter of fact went on to play college ball as well. How about you ?
  3. Excuse my rant but this is a frustrated HS basketball fan. I will never understand why the schools would not want to have the district tournament in a gym large enough to allow EVERYONE that wants to see their team play ! I will agree that Bracken Co has done a good job with the facilities that they have, small gym, little parking , limited bathroom facilities. I just do not understand why its not held at the biggest gym in the district every year, the schools all share the gate money so more attendance equals more money per school. As far as home court advantage, I would argue that when you bring your cheerleaders, your band and your cheering section that home court is a mute point. Last time I checked the court was the same size and the rims are the same height . Got that from Hoosiers ! But I honestly feel like attendance would be better, less frustration and more money per school. Should be a no brainer, as far as the concessions go: let the schools rotate every year who does them and that school keeps the money , I guess bottom line is bring the pork tenderloin and the bar-b-q to the fieldhouse and almost everyone will be happy ! My suggestion for the host next year : St. Pat ( no offense ), why not, gym is pretty nice and they could simulcast it to the old Maysville gym, if you leave the doors open you might even be able to hear the crowd at the St. Pat gym! Gym probably holds 5 or 6 HUNDRED people ! They could park in Aberdeen or at the boat dock and shuttle bus everyone in. It would be so great ! Sounds ridiculous to have it there doesn't it ? Sort of like having it at Bracken Co ( seats maybe 1800) instead of the Fieldhouse that seats what 5 THOUSAND or more ! Crazy to me, but I guess common sense isn't so common anymore !
  4. Great win for the Royals, kids played great tonight especially Connor Sweeney. He had a HUGE second half. It was fun to watch !! May be the best the team has looked all year . Proud of the boys tonight, played hard and left Clark Co with a W ! Time to move on and get 3 more W's next week.
  5. I believe the opening song is Tradition .
  6. I believe it's about the kids and their success as well. I too have seen some of this stuff go on this year and like you I am disappointed in the whole thing.
  7. Mason Co. Has several good incoming Freshman, garrison is super athlete and played up last year, Perkins has grown to over 6'7" and is developing into a nice player. Dunaway is an excellent point and there are several others that have potential to be really good. Future looks good for Mason Co
  8. Mason County should be good this year and has some good talent coming up.They have a good group of incoming freshman. Saw them play at Montgomery Co. A couple weeks ago. Looked better than they did as 8th graders. Garrison played up last year and is an exceptional athlete, Perkins is 6'7" and has a nice midrange game, Dunaway is a very good ball handler at the point, have several potentially good players in this group.
