  1. If everyone would of taught their daughters how to chew, spit and play ball at the same time we wouldn't be having this discussion about mask;)
  2. Facemask or no facemask, it's all about getting the job done. My daughter was personally told by a college coach to wear a facemask and heart guard. I figure that you need to keep thoughts to minimal and focus on task at hand. If wearing a facemask provides you with confidence and focusing on said task, then wear one. I've seen a pither and a couple of fielders take a ball to face with mask on to still be able to get outs. If they didn't have the mask on, I'm not to sure they could of produced the outs, especially the pitcher. Luckly, I've never seen a player get hit without a mask, but I've seen plenty of girls hesitate with mask on and without. Only solutions are to keep working on becoming a better fielder and using whatever means to take doubt out of ones mind even if it means wearing a suit of armor but you best get the outs:)
  3. I can't wait. It'll be this Tuesday. I think I'll go on a hunger strike until then:)
  4. I meant 2007 is when Scott was state champs. I was waiting to get called out on the slowpitch...lol. Thanks for proving my point;)
  5. Ryle beat Campbell County in 2004. Campbell County went on to become the state champs in 2004. Ryle also beat 2006 state runner up, Scott. In 2008, Ryle beat soon to be state champ Scott.
  6. I've noticed at least one team in N.Ky doesn't have any players representing them and there might be more. Is there a reason why some schools don't have players mentioned?
  7. I've had dealings with Holy Cross administration and it was just odd and different. My understanding is that Holy Cross wants to go in a different direction with their program.
  8. Thanks and I hope they do too for my daughters sake. Calvary is just different when it comes to sports. I know there small, but when you turn a program around...you would think you could get some backing.
  9. I was the ony coach on the staff last year hired by Chip, the other assistants/coaches from previous years were asked to stay to help bridge the gap. I know whats going on with the team, even though I don't coach there anymore and can assure you that it has nothing to do with basketball players. The last count was that there is only 2 basketball players going to play with maybe a 3rd one.
  10. Essentially you would be getting rid of it because what other option would you have if theres not enough players. I don't think the khsaa is going to recognize your team as valid if you turn in a 3 person roster when you need 9(softball/baseball...example) to compete. The school might still practice with few but in the khsaa's eyes you wouldn't have a team that could compete because of a lack of players or whatever reason you would give for not turning in a roster. Just because its "dropped" doesn't mean it couldn't be brought back the next year. Calvary use to have track and either they couldn't get a coach, or not enough interest with students and they haven't had it in at least the past 2 years. I have heard though, that there could be a resurrection of track, but who knows....just hearsay. So, I would say that track is dropped for now.
  11. I called khsaa and was told that if a school drops a sport, then those players are eligible to transfer if they choose to transfer as long as it was their only varsity sport they played. For instance(example), if the said player played varsity basketball, and varsity softball, but only softball got dropped prior to 1st game of season the following year due to whatever reason, then said player would have to sit a year because varsity basketball wasn't dropped. This also only applies to high school athletes and I believe that the sport has to be dropped before season begins as stated above in example. I don't think you can turn in a roster and during the season drop the sport for the eligibility of transfer to count. Of course, I could be off on some of it because it was about 3 months ago when I called.
  12. Awesome. What will admission be? Also, is this temporary or will it possibly be a long term thing?
  13. Calvary had its first practice today and gave a big warming welcome to the new coach with just 3 players showing up. Do we have anyone that would like to transfer to help out.....just kidding but it would be awfully nice.
