  1. In the 2nd region I would probably have to replace Eli Pepper with Scotty Hopson. Kenny White kind of reminds me of him. He doesn't look like he is trying that hard because he is so smooth but, by the end of the night he's got you 20 points 10 rebounds 5 assist and 4 blocks.
  2. The Maroons had three of their players commit to Ky colleges yesterday. Jordan Vaughn 6-4 290 OL/DL committed to Thomas Moore University Blake Moody 6-3 290 DL/OL committed to Murray State University Hayden Reynolds 6-2 190 QB committed to Campbellsville University Congratulations to these three fine young men, these schools have picked up some very underrated prospects if you ask me. Moody may be the most overlooked defensive lineman in the state. Vaughn has no quit in him, I've seen him need help off the ground and the next play he's caused total disruption in the backfield. Reynolds just has the will to win. He is the guy that will make the play when you've got to have it. Again, I wish all 3 of the young men the best of luck and look forward to following them on Saturday's.
  3. Wes Strader Schoolboy Classic at Warren Central High School Saturday, Feb. 8 All Times CST 10:45 a.m. - Bardstown vs. Greenwood 12:15 p.m. - #17 Butler vs. #8 Madisonville-North Hopkins 1:45 p.m. - Slam Dunk Competition 2:30 p.m. - #7 McCracken County vs. #9 Collins 4 p.m. - Lafayette Jefferson (Ind.) vs. Warren Central Should be some good hoops going on down in BG Saturday!
  4. Kenny White led the Maroons with 31 points past a stubborn Red Devil squad. Ksuan Casey added 18 and Marquise Parker 15 points for the Maroons, who extended their winning streak to eight. Owensboro was led by Gavin Wimsatt with 23 points. Madisonville travels to Union Co. this Friday and hosts Owensboro Catholic next Tuesday Feb.4
  5. Madisonville was 3 points away from a running clock early in the 3rd quarter. They sat most of their starters and subs started playing street ball and lost most of the lead. Maroons had to put starters back in they went back up by 20 then pulled them with 5 min left. I give Dawson their due, they are a scrappy squad, they move and shoot the ball well. There was no quit in them. Madisonville has another tough week this week. Played Hoptown at home Tues, @ Dawson Springs last night., will play @ Caldwell Co. tonight and against Male tomorrow @ Christian Co. They may have played the toughest schedule in the state after tomorrow by playing 7 of the preseason top 25, Marshall Co Hoopfest, King of the Bluegrass, Lex. Catholic tourney all while only playing 3 home games. They should be battle tested come tournament time.
  6. Madisonville with a 64-44 victory over Louisville Central. Will play the winner of Simon Kenton vs Dunbar tomorrow at 6 EST at Lexington Catholic.
  7. I've had the privilege of knowing Jeriah since he started middle school. He has always and even more so now, been a polite young man of outstanding character. I have truly enjoyed watching him mature off and on the field. He comes from an outstanding family who have truly instilled in him what it means to be a man of integrity. I will miss watching him lower his shoulder and take on anyone who was willing to challenge him then turn around and give them his hand to help them off the turf. A true spirit and will to win! Good luck in all your future endeavors!
  8. Maroon's need to establish the running game better than they did against Logan Co.. Then they have to try to slow down Hoptown's passing attack with Bland & Jesse, which is a tall order. Should be another classic! (Don't know if my heart can take another one. lol)
  9. Due to Madisonville being out of school Tue and Wed because of weather, and school board not letting them practice. Game has been rescheduled for Sat.at 2pm Stadium of Champions.
  10. Due to Madisonville being out of school Tue and Wed because of weather, and school board not letting them practice. Game has been rescheduled for Sat.at 2pm Stadium of Champions.
  11. Maroons QB Hayden Reynolds also had 1 rushing TD besides the 6 thru the air, all in the first half. Hightower's 168 rushing yards put him over the 2,000 yard mark for the season.
  12. Scheduling conflicts with previous/better opponents left them scrambling for a replacement.
  13. Maroons win 43-6 Jeriah Hightower with 304 yds rushing. A stark contrast to the 300+ yd passing attack they had last week.
  14. Maroons started out slow but soon put on the jets. QB Sr Hayden Reynolds went 17-28 for 331 yds and 4 td's. He also ran for 25 yds and a td. WR Sr DelJuan Johnson caught 9 passes for 278 yds and 3 td's. RB Sr Jeriah Hightower ran 15 times for 103 yds and a score. WR/DB Sr Marquise Parker also caught a pass for a score. QB/LB Sr Johnathan Hogart also came in to throw a td pass. The defense was as strong as expected only allowing 114 total yds from Union Co. WR/S Sr Nick Grant had 2 picks on the night. Next week 8/30 7:00 pm at Marshall Co.
