As expected no matter who Mitch hired. One and dones are gone and Cal’s recruits will mostly follow. The vacuum for first year was always going to be there.

All the press at that time quoted Cal as saying he promised his father he would not play Sharpe until he thought he was ready to successfully play at the SEC level. Toward tournament time when the Cats were injury heavy, Cal never said he wasn’t ready, he just repeated his promise to his father. Message received by BBN was NBA readiness took priority over team.

BBN spoke pretty loudly yesterday at the Presser turned Pep Rally welcoming Mark Pope back to lead the Cats. Very easy to conclude the NBA farm team objective had run past its’ sell-buy date. I personally had two things that broke my support: 1). Not playing S. Sharpe 2 years ago when he was desperately needed because it might hurt his draft stock, and 2). This team is “built for March”.

You might be 100% correct, but I thought Cal obviously constrained what Z wants to be. Z sees himself as a perimeter ball handler firing up 3s (Pope’s style) and not the body banger in the paint that Ky desperately needed this year. I really thought he wasn’t happy with his utilization under Cal.

If his goal is to play in the NBA while getting drafted high, agree with you now is the time. However, he may have higher desires toward Self Actualization. Would never 2nd guess his decision because none of us are in his head. Just as none of us should criticize Scott Drew’s decision that a bigger pile of money would help him realize what motivates his life.

Absolutely love his game and love my Cats; but if he is lottery pick, he’s got to go. Or, is Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs 100% correct.

When it comes to a lack of respect (a critical life lesson) even “1” could be considered “too many”. I think the mass exodus of experienced teachers in the classroom, referees/umpires in school sports, and school activity volunteers would endorse that for whatever reason (social media, peer examples, relative coolness, lack of parental influence, or no repercussions) respect for elders and authority figures is much more prevalent today than ever before. Still love the younger generation, but do think that failure is not always someone else’s fault and maybe I did something wrong to justify criticism. Abuse…nah. Toughen up, buttercup.

I am 100% at a loss as to how “slimy” could be used to describe any of these people, including Cal.

You missed the word “many” and in no way did I mean to infer whole generation. As to did “many” in my generation fail to teach valuable life lessons….you are 100% correct.

I had a personal experience with Pearl at the Mason Co. Fieldhouse when he was looking at Darius Miller. He was sitting by himself with no one within 10 feet, I inadvertently sat about 7-8 feet before I realized it was him. After apologizing and preparing to move, he smiled, introduced himself and insisted I sit next to him. For 3 quarters he congenially talked a plethora of subjects including basketball. When he departed he shook my hand and expressed his thanks for keeping him company. He left to head back to the Fleming County International Airport😂. From that day I have felt there is a lot more than appearances to this man.

Or, perhaps it is many of our younger generation growing up in undisciplined environments that have not been accustomed to respecting their elders, teachers, officials, coaches, or parents and learning to adapt and thrive for the betterment of the whole.

Bradshaw announced way in advance of Cal. Not sure Arkansas is his landing spot; but, maybe.
