  1. Feels like we are in a very special era of Cincinnati HS football. I know it's always been good, but these recent years seem awfully good in historical context. Enjoy!
  2. In starting lineup today @ Yankee Stadium.
  3. Great point Q. On top of that, the coaches have the "skins on the wall" for the kids to see. It is amazing what winning can do for a culture - it simply feeds off itself. There is a program slightly east of Park Hills that plays with an oblong ball that can tell you all about it.
  4. 7/21 - 9A @ Campbell Co 7/27 - 6P @ Wyoming Played @Milford last Thursday.
  5. Very sad news. Prayers to the Wehry Family and sincerest appreciation for all they have done and continue to do for Covington Catholic.
  6. I should add, for various reasons, the Kids were the crowd favorite for the championship game, which was played directly before closing ceremonies, so most of the tourney field and parents were there. At various points, 90% of the crowd (guessing 500 people), from all over the country, participated in chants: "KEN-TUCK-EEE" and "GO BIG BLUE". It was simply amazing.
  7. Congrats to the KY Kids 12U baseball team, coached by Joel Steczynski, Wayne Siemer, Brian Isler, Paul McCauley and Scott Smallwood. Last night, they won the AA Division tournament championship at the Omaha Champions Village in Omaha, NE. The Kids went 8-1 over the course of the week, with wins against competition from Colorado, Arkansas, California (twice), Wisconsin, Arizona, Louisiana and North Carolina. They won four, one-run games yesterday in the single elimination phase to claim the crown. Great job boys! Great job coaches! As an aside, the roster is a mixed bag of 2015-2016 7th/8th graders that will likely be attending Scott, Dixie, Ryle and Cov Cath. A great melting pot of Kids!
  8. I was playing at Cov Cath at same time, so it sounds like we chewed some of the same dirt - always a fun opener. Love the neck roll comment - made the LBs look enormous!
  9. The Raiders logo was '89 season ('89-'90 school year). They switched back to REBELS in '90 ('90-'91 school year). One of the other threads has old school FB pics. You'll find pics from both years there.
  10. I think it's fair to say that each of the contending teams in the bottom portion of the bracket were the beneficiaries of a good draw. As far as who the contenders are, we'll find out shortly. Should be a fun day.
  11. Tough to argue that anyone in NKY is playing better ball right now than HHS. Scary combo of pitching and hitting.
