  1. Jeremy Harness? If it is Harness I wish him the best of luck. He was a fantastic player at John Hardin. This would be the third "college" coaching hire the Dragons will have made in 10 years. The other 2 didn't fair well for various reasons. If I were a Dragon supporter, I would not be optimistic that the same interim principal, that has almost single handily destroyed Warren Central Football since 2016, is involved in making this hire. Hopefully he wasn't involved.
  2. Pretty confident in saying it won't be Tyreon Clark. I am curious what direction the administration is leaning here. Obviously no way to ever know what the pool of applicants looks like, but I can't help but wonder if its slim. I wish the best of luck to the Dragons. It's hard not to root for those kids and the program after all it has been through.
  3. Purples thoroughly outplayed from 4th quarter on. If this holds, the Dragons earned this one.
  4. Thinking Highlands will make a SC and/or win it requires, at least to me, a touch of evidence to support that theory. Other than some metrics posted of some size for the Bluebirds, I am failing to see much provided. Its February and super early, but I'm not so sure Highlands has the credentials currently to lay any claims of that nature. Since their return to 5A in 2015, the results have been overwhelmingly disappointing if we're using Highlands standards of the past as a measuring stick. I guess what I am saying is, I'll change when the facts change, as should anyone else.
  5. Still, have to think something may have been in the air to bail after three years starting at QB for Glasgow. OC John Myers heads to Barren and within a short time their quarterback is gone too. It may be nothing to do with anything but it’s at the very least intriguing.
  6. We will have to agree to disagree here.
  7. I'm not in a spot to make any kind of educated guess, but if I had to, the position you took here is what I've had in my head from the moment I heard Coach James mentioned. And that's fine. All I was implying was I have been skeptical, and I don't think I'm alone in that thinking. Again, let me be perfectly clear, if Coach James is selected that is a fantastic hire for Pulaski County.
  8. I said maybe. No way of ever actually knowing. That being said, going from Franklin County to Pulaski County doesn't seem, at least to me, as even a lateral opportunity. If he is the hire then that's a homerun. I just have a hard time of seeing the circumstances around it. Teacher pay is better, the immediate team success favors FC by a wide margin, and the overall talent pool is superior. And a previous poster mentioned about getting away from Boyle County in 4A just to line it up against Bowling Green in 5A, I don't see that as a valid enough reason to make a change like this.
  9. Or maybe there wasn't a twist to begin with, and it was always going to be Travis Burns or Roberts. This whole Eddie James fiasco has seemed so strange the entire time.
  10. If "playing for a state championship in the near future" is the kind of impression it's leaving, I can only think of a handful of coaches in the state that could have that immediate of an impact. Must be a big name.
  11. Job has been filled by John Myers. Former Glasgow OC and more notably former Russellville HC. Good luck, Coach. https://104thescore.com/2024/01/18/john-myers-named-barren-county-football-coach/
  12. One thing is certain, it wouldn't be until the fourth round at the earliest. With RPI, it's hard to jump the gun on where anybody will be. Cooper, Highlands, and Bowling Green could find themselves with a loss or two in the regular season that could change travel.
