  1. Who is this "best defensive lineman" who hasnt had game snaps yet? if your thinking about Junior Jones, he played week 1.
  2. Tcats roll. I think I love pounding on Russell more than anyone... Ashland 42 Russell 7
  3. I just LOVE how Greenup is better than Russell now. It makes my heart happy as they say...
  4. How big is the Raceland O/D lines? I looked back through the Independent preview and looks like yall have some big ol boys....
  5. I have to say, I respect the heck out of Raceland. I root for them any other week than this. With that being said, they will lose this one by 30+. I'm not sure anyone outside of JC can match up with Ashland's offensive weapons. If Brandt doesnt drop one, he has 4 catches for 4 TD's and over 250+ yards....in his FIRST game. He's like Cody Withrow, but faster. I would like to see Hester and Pittman get more carries this week. Dont forget that one of Ashland's best all around players Isaac Caines didnt play, not sure about his status this week. He wasn't wearing the brace on his hand during the game Friday night, which is a step in the right direction. He will solidify the secondary and add another legit weapon at WR. Skill positions with Hester, Pittman, Caines, Brandt, and Ratliff? My goodness. Lets not forget that Ashland's D forced 3 fumbles, and had two kickoffs go into the endzone. A HUGE advantage for a team if you can consistently do that. LB Braedon Ward was also impressive, seems like his name was called a lot. I know Raceland always has a good team, dont see them being able to hang for 4 quarters. Ashland 48 Raceland 14
  6. Looks like a fairly average season for Russell on the way...
  7. Spring Valley was BIG, but no real athletes. I dont think either varsity squad scored. Ashland got it down to the 5 on their first drive, but stalled. Spring Valley go it inside the 10 and Blake Hester made an INT in the endzone. Hester looked good, with some nice runs and 3 or 4 recpetions, one for about 40 yards. Cade Brandt had a nice catch as well. Ashland O-line did a good job against a muuuch bigger SV Dline. #74 for SV is a monster, gotta be 6'6 300lbs. Braxton Ratliff's younger brother Baron looked good at QB with one nice TD pass of about 50 yards. Ashland was missing 3 starters, Isaac Caines, Drew Fannin, and Spinda.
  8. Cole Villers tore ACL/MCL a few weeks ago. Has had surgery, tough break for the freshman, and big loss for the TCats.
  9. Bryant played a few games early on, before he hurt his knee. Had like 16 tackles against Russell I do believe....
  10. What significant injuries? There is nothing that I know of that will impact the regular season...and certainly wont impact anything in week 10 when they play JC. I fully expect the Tomcats to be undefeated rolling into JC....the only possible loss I see is George Washington who always has a good team.
  11. Very excited about how good this Ashland team can be. Should be a great season, I anticipate an undefeated showdown with JC at the end of the regular season. I have no idea how hard/easy JC's schedule is though.
