  1. These teams do not like each other one bit. The lack of pre-game handshakes and all of the other non-sense is just another log on the fire. It's going to be a battle at the BB&T.
  2. Thanks for holding the door for me! I don't know many names so that was my main reason for asking the question and who to look out for that would be up and coming. Just based off of games watched I'd have to say CovCath has a pretty strong staff, Coach Ruthsatz is a great coach but he can't do it all alone and I'm not familiar with his assistants! Coach Listerman has been around a while so he would probably have a good staff as well. Cooper seems to have a young staff too.
  3. There are a bunch of great head coaches in the area but behind the guys calling the shots there are some really great minds. Who you got?
  4. Two very good teams will battle tonight. CovCath always plays with a up in your face mentality and are very disciplined on both sides of the ball. NewCath is shooting light's out and their defense has been stellar the past few weeks and this group is really starting to gel. I think NewCath wins in a close one 59-54.
  5. NCC Freshman lose to Simon Kenton last night 48-41 (I believe). Terrible showing by the Breds. Better bounce back tonight as I'm sure Coach Gray will have the Panthers ready to go up on the Hill.
  6. The CCH/NCC game next week should be a good one. CCH is playing at a high level and handling teams fairly easy. Newcath has won 7 in a row (handful of them are blow outs) after a 1-3 start (probably due to adjusting roles in losing Hall and Pangallo to JV). They are back at it tonight on the Hill vs St. Henry.
  7. What about Steve Pangallo? I believe he's the only one of the Pangallo brothers to be in the 1,000 point club...
  8. NewCath frosh at 2-3 with wins vs. Holmes and at Boone... Losses vs. Connor and at Dixie and Elder.... All losses at 5 points or less. Lost a couple good guards to the JV/Varsity level in Hall and Pangallo. Next up at home vs Dayton Monday December 22.
  9. Diocesan Tournament has been well ran and it looks like we're going to have a Trinity/SPX final tomorrow at 3:30. Should be a pretty good game.
  10. Trinity played St. Pius in the semi-final of the St. Henry tournament and won by about 4 or 5 I believe, then played IHM in the finals and won by 15 or so. Depending on who the #3 and #4 seeds end up being, it wouldn't be a big surprise to see a Trinity/St. Pius final which would be a great game and preview of the next 4 years in an already heated NewCath/Covcath rivalry.
  11. I guess the only good thing about it being at a smaller SJCS is that there will be a good crowd and give the kids an exciting environment to play in. St. Pius beating Conner again the other night shows that they are playing at a very high level at the moment and will be tough to beat in the Diocesan.
  12. They are waiting for the final seeds for the #3 and #4 teams. They only had SPX at #1 and St. Agnes at #2. As far as the venue, agreed, needs to be played on a HS floor but with Mr. Joe Heil stepping down as tourney Director they didn't even know if they were going to have it this year bc no one would take over. Mr. Daryl Orth stepped up and decided to take charge and SJCS was available.
  13. Game times for the Diocesan Tournament coming up next week. All games are being played at St. Joe Cold Spring. MONDAY FEB 24th: St. Pius vs. St. Mary - 6:00pm Holy Trinity vs Kenton County#4 - 8:30pm TUESDAY FEB 25th: St. Joe CS vs. St. Agnes - 7:15pm WEDNESDAY FEB 26th: St. Therese vs. Kenton County#3 THURSDAY FEB 27th: HT/KCC#4 vs. SJCS/St.Agnes - 7:15pm SPX/STM vs. KCC#3/STS - 8:30pm SATURDAY MAR 1st: CHAMPIONSHIP - 3:30pm
  14. He played the winter session with Pangallo's on 27. Not sure if he is on a different team now that that session is over. St. Joe CS doesn't use him the way they should though. Kid has a good shot and grabs boards. Just needs to work on his speed and footwork.
