  1. I was really impressed with the Connor John. He was a stud out on the football field. Him and Beasley easily were the best out there. Was kinda of cool that one was from South Oldham and one was from North Oldham. Would have liked to have seen them play against each other. RB vs LB. Both have the tools to play D1. I am going to try to keep track to see where they go.
  2. Murray State, Cumberland, Upike, and Georgetown have all shown interest in Cameron Bailey and all have made some type of offer.
  3. I think the Offensive Line did a good job against an obviously bigger Tennessee D-Line. #99 was a beast but really only recall one sack , made some tackles but were 4 or 5 yards down field. Kentucky's line with Daff, Bailey, Ingle, Wilks, Austin, and the rest actually controlled the line. Most of the time QB's had time to throw, Hatfield was getting 5 yards a carry and scored from about 5 yards out standing up, Beasley was able to turn the corner and show unbelievable speed (boy was he fast), Brooks was getting yards inside and outside. But really, the overall make up of the Kentucky team you could tell the just jelled. I was there and I could really tell they enjoyed playing with each other. Like I saw someone say on social media they were respectful, showed manners and showed class.
  4. I agree that Cameron is probably better suited at the FCS Level (EKU, Murray State, etc.). Maybe WKU, Ohio, Akron. I am not aware of any other offers at this time but do know that Murray State and WKU have been keeping in contact. Also, want to congratulate Justin. It is always good to hear any OL or DL get recognition they deserve.
  5. Cameron Bailey, who plays Center for Lexington Catholic High School has received a football scholarship offer to play at West Virginia State. Congratulations to a very deserving hard working young man!
  6. All three should be on the roster. Reese has played outstanding the last few games especially against Boyle Co. Cameron Bailey is the best Center in the state and Chase Boling is one of the best linebackers in the state. Nothing against the players selected all are good players, but I don't think the picks are based on the performance on the field but who got the most publicity or who they are. Also, what about Boyle or Highlands. I don't particularly care for either team but I do respect their talent. Both teams should have players selected for this team.
  7. Heard that the 2 linemen from Kentucky, Cameron Bailey and Olmstead from Simon Kenton did real well. Both were noticed by the Coaches.
  8. While this is not a scholarship offer, Cameron Bailey from Lexington Catholic, Offensive Lineman (Center) was offered a preferred walk-on position from the University of Louisville. Not bad considering Louisville is now part of the ACC probably the 2nd best Conference next to the SEC. Opportunity to earn scholarship is there with hard work.
  9. Does anybody know of any of the other teams participating?
  10. I think Hatton will have a good year. I also liked the way a couple of newcomers kinda of stood out at the Spring Scrimmage. Running Back #5 (last name starts with a B but can't pronounce it.). I thought he ran hard and with a purpose. On defense I thought #77 looked pretty good. I think Crawley is last name. Very dependable on D-Line rotation. More players coming back from baseball and lacrosse. Should have solid team with quality depth.
  11. Takeaway from Second week of Spring Practice: 1) Defense looks really good led by Chase Boling at Linebacker. Bigger upfront and in Secondary 2) Offense getting better but still has some work to do. Reese Ryan is getting even better and is command of the Offense. Line is still work in progress but has potential. Cameron Bailey at Center is just dominating and should be getting more notice as top Center in state. Once the running backs get healthy, should help the running game. Looks like emphasis has been on defensive side of ball during Spring. Still missing two potential starters do to injury and still looks good. A lot of positives from Coaching staff, getting players to play as team.
  12. #43 is Austin Pedroche, younger brother of Jarod Pedroche. Looks like he is playing the same position that Mitchell was playing. Looks really good. Would be great to see both players on defensive at the same time. I would agree playing Mitchell in the Secondary would give the defense a big boost in defending the pass.
  13. Congratulations to Cameron Bailey for his performance in the Nike Football Training Camp in Birmingham, Alabama. The 6'3" Center for Lexington Catholic made the Showcase Round in the One on One drills for Offensive and Defensive Lineman. He beat his opponent in the Showcase Round. Competition included several recruits with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, among other SEC schools. Cameron just missed the Top 7 athletes but was listed as "other standouts." Congratulations Cameron for representing the state of Kentucky well.
  14. Totally agree that Andy Thompson needs to be on the field in some sort of capacity. The young man is super quick and hard to tackle. Maybe at receiver or even maybe at running back. Imagine him and Reese on the field at the same time with him lined up at running back.
  15. OriginalQuestion- What does LC need to do to be successful in 2014? IMO- Offense will be a lethal as ever with an experienced line, an experienced Quarterback and talented running backs and receivers. Area of improvement- Cut down on turnovers. Defense- Should be pretty good this year with a lot of talented players returning but do lose Marty Brown and Josh Mesmer. Two great leaders. Area of Improvement- Pass defense and who is going to emerge as the leader for the defense this year? Biggest of area I see for improvement is in the Kicking game. It doesn't do any good to score and then have the other team run the Kickoff back. Having said all of that I see a pretty solid team. Too early to make a prediction until after Spring Ball because of Coaching change but I am leaning on trip to Bowling Green in December.
