I’ll also throw this out there. Montgomery Inn is not that good. The ribs are not always tender. It’s very expensive And the menu was not very creative. The sports memorabilia is kind of neat though.

I really do not like Buffalo Wild Wings. Not a fan of Five Guys with Burgers and Fries I also think Olive Garden is over rated. They have good salad and soup, but their italian dishes are pretty weak. And as a Gold Star fan, I can't figure out why any of you like Skyline.

So if Jesus agreed with them, then they could have accused him of misrepresenting the Law. The whole point of this drama is the Pharisees were trying to trick him. He found a way to not be tricked without violating the law.

Excellent response. But I think there are a couple of points when reading the verses. In verse six it says that the Pharisees were attempting to trap Jesus in order to accuse him. If Jesus said "Kill her!" they could accuse him of being violent and if he said "Let her go" then he would be accused of breaking the the law. The issue in my mind is there claim that the Law of Moses requires her to be stoned. No where in the Bible does it say a...

Also, I do not think it is wrong for someone to be against the death penalty; however if someone were to suggest that the Bible condemns or forbids the government from using that level of capital punishment, then I think that indeed is wrong.

I know I am not very good. I shot between an 88-93. Because I know my driver is inconsistent, I choose not to hit off the back tees. Why is it that some guys that have no idea how to hit the ball, insist on playing the the back tees? I'm all for learning the game and having fun, but until you can strike the ball with some kind of regularity, please play off the middle tees. It helps pace of play.

It So does not. Science explains how it all works but not how it happened. But this thread is not meant for that discussion. I am sorry I brought it up. I usually do not hijack other people’s Threads. I was taught that agnostic people did not “care” if there was a God or not. Not necessarily did not “know” if there was a God or not. But I’ve not met very many in my life.

I think you can put yourself in a tough spot with that. Jesus himself said “why does this generation continually ask for signs!” He also said “blessed are those that have not seen, yet still believe.” I think the need for proof can be a barrier. What proof would someone need? What could they possibly see that would convince them? Look at the stars, the sky, the beautiful hills, or the design of the universe.

I think there are some well documented cases of innocent people being found wrongly convicted and put to death. But I can't cite and actual case. Then of course there is Jesus.

I have never understood why people thought that being pro-life and being in support of the death penalty are inconsistent or hypocritical. I am pro life because I do not want innocent people should die. I am in support of the death penalty because I do not want innocent people to die. People, I think all of them, that get put to death are guilty of killing an innocent person.

There is this paragraph in the book of Romans 13, which is pretty much where I get this idea. I’ll list it below, it’s only about five verses. Keep in mind though it is the assumption that the governing authority is a fair and just one. Maybe not necessarily righteous, but fair and not evil. “1Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have...

Do you think most Christians believe in the death penalty? Today in Cincinnati there were some signs posted and protests going on that made me think of this question. Personally, I think God has given the government the authority to carry out capital punishment but am curious what others think.
