It So does not. Science explains how it all works but not how it happened. But this thread is not meant for that discussion. I am sorry I brought it up. I usually do not hijack other people’s Threads. I was taught that agnostic people did not “care” if there was a God or not. Not necessarily did not “know” if there was a God or not. But I’ve not met very many in my life.

I think you can put yourself in a tough spot with that. Jesus himself said “why does this generation continually ask for signs!” He also said “blessed are those that have not seen, yet still believe.” I think the need for proof can be a barrier. What proof would someone need? What could they possibly see that would convince them? Look at the stars, the sky, the beautiful hills, or the design of the universe.

I think there are some well documented cases of innocent people being found wrongly convicted and put to death. But I can't cite and actual case. Then of course there is Jesus.

I guess. I just always thought that "pro-life" was a term used specifically in the abortion debate.

Wow. I watched that back in 1988 when I was seven. I always thought it was funny when Spock would try to use profanity.

I have never understood why people thought that being pro-life and being in support of the death penalty are inconsistent or hypocritical. I am pro life because I do not want innocent people should die. I am in support of the death penalty because I do not want innocent people to die. People, I think all of them, that get put to death are guilty of killing an innocent person.

There is this paragraph in the book of Romans 13, which is pretty much where I get this idea. I’ll list it below, it’s only about five verses. Keep in mind though it is the assumption that the governing authority is a fair and just one. Maybe not necessarily righteous, but fair and not evil. “1Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have...

Do you think most Christians believe in the death penalty? Today in Cincinnati there were some signs posted and protests going on that made me think of this question. Personally, I think God has given the government the authority to carry out capital punishment but am curious what others think.

I am starting a 4 week series over Judge Gideon. He is kind of a wishy-washy kind of guy but God uses him to defeat some polytheistic tribes. Click below for sermon #1 Lystra Church of Christ

May 31st 2004. I had one Baily's and Coffee at the bar in Westin on Michigan Ave during my honey moon. I was so drunk I couldn't touch the buttons on the elevator.

I'm not saying they will finish .500 or I think they should be buyers going for a second half surge to the playoffs. But I am interested and altering my schedule in order to watch and listen again. They are fun to follow now. It may not last, but when the team is playing better, it makes the summer more fun.

Click below to last Sunday's sermon over the High Priest Caiaphas. Caiaphas was the priest that accused Jesus and wanted him executed. He also did something very intruiging during the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. It's a pretty decent sermon.

I once had a summer referee tell me that a player is not allowed to dribble on the other side of the free throw line while preparing to shoot a free throw. He claimed that any FRee Throw routine that included dribbling the ball must take place above the free throw line. A dribble that is below the free throw line is considered a free throw attempt. I just smiled and went on.
