  1. We'll probably see him on the sidelines again. He's a good guy and a good coach.
  2. I agree, except they called two fouls on Cooper's point guard in the first 90 seconds.
  3. Carroll County is big enough with ample parking. Not nearly as good as Henry county though.
  4. He was definitely the best player on Cov Cath's squad last night. As far as the court goes, I think I'd give the nod to Rondon. It seemed like the Colonels put several different players on him and he still beat them off the dribble. I loved how he read the floor and read screens. I think two big possessions of the game were the last 3 seconds of the 1st and 3rd Quarters. If memory serves me correctly, Cooper scored on OB plays each time.
  5. Rondon was far and away the best player on the floor today. I knew he was good, but it seemed like he was absolutely toying with defenders. I hope he is able to play Tuesday, that is a definite game changer.
  6. I think about 6 of those 29 were scored by the JV. Kind of an anticlimactic atmosphere.
  7. I do not know the intricacies of the new rule, but in the past, if the ball is still in the hands of the "inbounder" or the player standing out of bounds, then there is no offense or defense. In the past, I am almost positive that bonus free throws were awarded for an illegal screen or push off in those situations. That is why a player can stand in the lane for 4 or 5 seconds.
  8. Well... since you brought it up. When the teams got back to the locker room, Ken Ellis (Covington's AD) went over to our student section and started motioning the kids to exit immediately. Then he started pointing to the door for all fans, including parents to leave. I thought this was rather odd because it was a relatively calm atmosphere, the crowds were not yelling at each other, there was no dirty play during the game, or technical fouls/warning given. IT was a hard, clean game. Apparently there was a skirmish between two players of the Holy Cross cheerleading team, not sure if it was a fight or not. As for the game, HC played a man-to-man defense the first half that smothered Beechwood. The Tigers could not get any open looks at all. 2nd Half, they switched to a zone defense for some reason and Beechwood got more open looks. The Indians only scored 12 points in the second half. The last 2 minutes, Beechwood hit a lot of free throws and HC struggled from the line.

  11. The Lady Tigers bested the Lady Demons last night. 8th Grade guard Gia Jones scored her 70th 3-pointer of the season which is a Beechwood record. Congratulations!
  12. I'm with you. The last week of the regular season is the worst of the year, then the following 2 weeks are the best 2 weeks of the school year.
