Guru, I believe this is correct. Reason being with realignment in the 2019 season will see Christian County move into 5A District 1 replacing Barren County, so BG would not need a game in that slot. Whether they choose to keep Bullitt Central (I believe this season is the end of a home and home contract with them) the last game of the regular season remains to be seen.

WOW! I copied this from a MaxPreps article called "The Next 5". Warren Central, IN checked in at #26 and Trinity checked in at #29 in the Nation. 218 Early Contenders - The Next 5 - High School Sports Video - MaxPreps No. 26 Warren Central (Indianapolis) - The Indiana power has a good chance in 2018 to win its ninth football state championship with the talent it returns this year. Ben Davis, which beat the Warriors in the 6A finals,...

Then plan on the schedule I proposed for a July heat index influenced event. Permission granted.

No, your still missing it. If I had a 4 hour bus drive I would leave at least at noon to get there to play at 6pm. You are done 9pm and at the hotel at 10pm. You have to arrange for food to be delivered there. I said the games start at 7 am not 6. So you are up at 5:30. You either want to do this or you don't. I didn't say it was easy. Winning isn't easy. You either strive for it or you sit home and play Terrible County in the low...

That may be difficult but its something that can be planned or requested in advance and since not much else is going on it could be approved. But I see your point that it would be an issue for some. But not all and likely only a few.

Get a room, pitch a tent, fly a helicopter. If you want to play 6 games in July with the heat index rules you have to adjust your schedule. So yes, if Madisonville for example wanted to participate and get 6 games in they would either have to stay the night in Paducah OR drive back and forth. You could pitch tents if you like. McCracken County has acres available for a tent village...

You're missing it. Teams that come from a distance have to stay the night. The Chicago Team stayed at the hotel we stayed at. They could have played that night, which is what I'm suggesting and get up the next morning and play the tournament games and then go home just as planned. Not sure what you mean by twice.

The Good: I saw Graves County battle Hopkinsville at 9 this morning in a very entertaining game. Both quarterbacks looked good but both threw some picks. July football is not November football. They both have some nice looking playmakers on the outside and I think both will have good seasons. I then watched BG play Madisonville. I though the Maroons played hard and although I wasn't overly impressed with their QB he made the average plays....

Went to a piece of the Small School Tournament tonight. First it was really hot! Second, McCracken County has tremendous facilities. Very impressed. There is no way to know what the score is unless you pay implicit attention to the game. No score board or flip boards or anything. The referees keep the time on the field so occasionally you hear "X time remaining" called out. With that said, it is good to see the football in the air...

The Tigers are going to be very good in 2018! They went through SO much in 2017 that it took them to the playoffs to get things together. With the coaching staff with a full year under their belts, I look for them to be hard to handle in 2018. Looking forward to seeing them play 7on7 this weekend at McCracken County!

McCracken County High School Football > Home McCracken County will host a 7on7 Tournament July 13 for "Small Schools" (10 Teams) and on July 14 will host a Varsity Tournament with 20 Teams and a JV Tournament with about 12 Teams. Small School KY Schools participating include Crittenden County, Union County, Butler County, Ballard County, Calloway County, Fort Campbell, and Todd County Central. JV KY School competing include McCracken...

GC, I can certainly understand how you would see this as terse and a secret. I honestly feel it was just an answer in a string of questions that he didn't get a chance to go deep into. Alot of times we send text messages or emails and the verbage gets misconstrued by the tone of the way the reader reads it and not the way the sender meant it. I think this is likely what happened. He may have had another meeting to get to or whatever. ...

HCP, Thanks for that! I am going to try to get down to watch some of the action on the 21st then. I think it will be a good game. Whenever you have a new head coach there will be some adjusting to do on BGs side. Hobbs is a very good player. I enjoyed watching him at the Rafferty's Bowl last season. Good Luck!

I'm hearing it's going to be a ground and pound year for the Colonels. Having to replace a 4 year starter at QB will be a tough task. Defense should be good though.

This is definitely a dark horse team for 2018. Can they beat Russellville? I don't know, but will be fun to follow.

HCP, I'm looking forward to the CHardin vs BG game in about 7 weeks or so. Is CHardin hosting their 7v7 tourney again and if so, what are the dates? I'm going to the McCracken County 7v7 Tourney as BG will play there this year. I'll report on it when I get there.

It's pretty sad really. I have been told it is not politically pleasing to to merge with Fulton County. I just hate to see kids that put forth effort not get a chance to get a win from time to time.
