Wow! That is a big loss. Excellent QB with experience. Those just aren't that plentiful. Good luck to Mr. Burns at Murray.

Has there ever been a High School player from Kentucky ranked in the Top 10 of their class nationally? That is not a smarty pants question. I am interested to know how many times a HS kid with KY ties has made this type list. (For that matter also MADE a USA Basketball squad, not tried out).

Might have to go watch that Fern Creek game coach. Should be a good one!

Langhi will be a 4 year starter. He is very good with his arm and surprisingly good with his feet. Christian County will be a Tough out this year!

First Congrats and Good Luck to Mr. Maynard! But things like this always make me sad because even though I did not know him or even read his articles "way over here in WKY", I can tell by his article above that he was a tremendous journalist. You don't make it in that industry 42 years just because. It is a changing of the guard so to speak. How much longer with print newspaper be around? You have to ask the question. If it does go, it...

School and academic wise - Fern Creek is on the clear up-tick :thumb:, but as Hambone said that will likely soon lead them back to the treacherous 6A athletic waters, SO Time is of the Essence. Truth be told, I did not expect them to beat Manual or Desales or Covington Catholic or Bowling Green. They lost all those games but 1. However that 1 was very impressive to me. I attended the CovCath v Fern Creek game and came away more impressed...

In the 1980s, the Lakers and/or the Celtics were in the Finals ALL 10 Years. Now they only competed against each other in 84, 85, and 87. I was a much bigger fan back at that time and I knew those teams would be in the finals all 3 of those years (and thought they should have several times more). I guess it really depends on how much you are into it. I was more into it back then.

Totally understand CWB! :thumb: I suppose Plantside is miffed that since you "up-graded" X because they lost to teams most everyone would lose to on the one hand and then "down-graded" Russellville because they lost to a team 3 classes above them and the 1A State Champ who cleaned house against everyone in Russellville's classification. It's tough being the archery target with everyone shooting their arrow at you. :lol2: I personally...

You guys are talking apples and oranges. Russellville is a 1A public school with limited resources AND limited in the opponents that they can get on their schedule. St Xavier is a 6A Private school with more than reasonable resources AND can schedule a plethora of opponents at their leisure. I have no problem with your grades, but the Russellville - St X comparison isn't eye to eye.

Russellville is an interesting team to grade. Anticipation was VERY high for this past season. During the season, they only lost to 4A runner-up Franklin Simpson, but as Harry Doyle mentioned above - that was a tight game into the second half. Then they laid an egg after a 4+ hour bus ride to Beechwood in the 1A SEMI-FINAL when all knowledgeable fans knew that would be a tough game for Russellville to win. You will note that Beechwood also...
