Huge get for the cats! He may not be your everyday Big Mac All American but he is the type of player that you just want and in UK's circumstance "needs" on your team.

Most any Kamado will cook the same as any other brand of Kamado. It's essentially the design and insulation that makes them such great cookers. Even the cheap metal cookers like the Chargriller Akorn and the Charbroil Cammander are great, basically due to the fact that they are insulated just like their much more expensive ceramic siblings.

The Blackstones are awesome! They cook evenly and quickly. I picked up the 17" tabletop not long ago to sit on a grilling station that I had made for it and my Akorn. I'm typically not a big fan of gas grills but I love the Blackstone flat tops. The Akorn and the Blackstone pair up quite nicely as well, I could cook about anything you can think of on those two cookers.

I work outside for a living so I'm used to the heat and know how to hydrate properly. But I can't really remember anytime in recent years where it was this hot in mid June. I checked my phone weather app at 2:30 and it was 94 with a heat index of 105. We went ahead and decided to call it a day and will go in an hour early tomorrow.

They're great cookers. However if you're going to spend that kind of coin on a ceramic Kamado I'd take a strong look at the Kamado Joe brand. You can catch great deals on those at Costco roadshows and they come with a ton of accessories.

I noticed the work being done and wondered what all was going on outside of the home side bleachers. What will the buildings on the west side of campus become? Also that big pile of dirt near those buildings has some of the best looking grass I've ever seen growing on top of it. It's like someone layed sod over top of it hah.

I cooked the strips from Findlay market last night and they turned out great. After cooking and resting I ended up taking one of the strips and slicing it thin for a steak salad and cut the other up to make three filet sized portions to go with baked potatoes and corn. Last week I asked my local butcher to cut me a 2" thick ribeye for a camping trip and it turned out amazing as well, even though the gas/charcoal duel fuel grill at our camper...
