I meant $1800 per home game lol. They used 180 gallons of paint prior to the Harlan home opener.

Unfortunately, yes, it does. I was recently told that Ashland spends $1800 and that's just in paint alone. Volunteers actually do the painting. I had no idea it cost that much money.

Dollar bills. It benefits both teams to play at Putnam. As an Ashland fan I'm not opposed one bit to playing at Raceland, I feel like it would be a nice road game for is to have every other year. But like most things in life it all comes down to money. Both schools make more money from this game being at Ashland than rotating it year to year. For what it's worth, Raceland has really nice facilities, but they wouldn't be able to hold the crowd...

Cannon is gone, just fireworks now. The people in the area around the stadium complained about the noise from the cannon, but they seem to like the pretty fireworks hah.

I'm pulling for Belfry as well, I'm just being honest when I say that HHS is the better team, even if everyone is healthy. The top tier teams in WV are likely better than you believe they are.

They're missing several starters, I'll leave it at that. Someone else can name the players if they wish. As far as WV football goes, HHS would likely be a team in the 5-7 range in 6A in Kentucky. So it's not a stretch to think they would beat Belfry even if the Pirates were at full strength.

You do realize that they have several players returning from last season as well as the addition of Reid Travis, a senior that transferred from Stanford, right?. This UK roster isn't full of one and done's.

Of course there are reasons why some players are starters and others are backups. I believe the idea though is to have backups ready to play against equal opponents. From your own recognition is sounds like the backup for X played really well for his first game, throwing for 250 yards. I completely agree, that's a really good starting point for a young qb. So that makes me question why some people question that X wasn't simply outplayed and...

I think the question to the bolded is why is a school that size only prepping a single qb during that one month time span you mentioned. IMO, they have enough athletes and coaches at their disposal that they should always have a backup qb ready to go that knows the offense. Smaller schools than X have that luxury and it isn't because they have more talent walking the hallways between classes, it's because they're better prepared. I'm not...

You may find some that while they are made out of thin metal, they have another layer of insulation between two pieces of metal. That's a popular design on some of the lower end Kamado style grills. It makes for a really efficient cooker at a good price point compared to 1k+ cookers. Just do your research before you purchase one and you'll likely find something that will be great. If you need any opinions post them here or pm me and I'll help...

Yes, I'd guess around 10% of the time. Generally the best team on a particular night/day wins the game though.

Yes, that's what results in a loss 90% of the time.

When I think of outplayed I think that the winning team outplayed the losing team, hence they won the game. To me any other reason to claim that the losing team lost is just an excuse to try and justify that they are better, even though they lost the game. IE, a cop out.

I get that and that would explain the loss, but some seem to think it was because X only had a few days to prepare a new qb, which is likely why this thread is being discussed. So if it was simply X got outplayed by 2A DeSales and it didn't have anything to do with trying to find a new qb, then X has bigger issues, IMO.

From reading your other posts it seems that he threw for 250 yards, which seems like that would have been enough to get the win, unless he had multiple turnovers or a low completion rate. I honestly don't have those stats in front of me. If he did throw for 250 yards and was efficient then that kinda debunks the theory that X lost because they didn't have time to prepare their qb. If that's the case then I imagine X has other issues that...

A coal/woodburning vertical smoker is actually pretty efficient and adds a nice smoked flavor. The big key with those is how well they are insulated, ie, thickness of the metal. If the metal is thick enough they are really good smokers and much more efficient than the offset smokers.

I must have been doubling it to account for enrollment for a coed school. But yeah, that's still a lot of boys to not have a backup qb ready to go when needed.

The top schools in WV's large class are usually really good, most 6A teams in KY would have a hard time beating them. I would be surprised if Belfry doesn't get blown out in this one, given that they will be missing some key players.

Put me in the camp that thinks Chic fil a is overrated. It's not because I don't like it, it's honestly one of the few fast food places I'll eat at. I just don't understand all of the hype about it, people rave about it like it's better than they could make at home and to be honest I could do much better at home. For what it's worth though, outside of higher end restaurants I typically don't leave any restaurant impressed, because my wife or...

I don't have one but I have used the electric Masterbuilts before. They're great if you want want the smoker to literally do all of the work for you, but to me that takes all of the fun out of it hah. They also have a lower smoke profile than charcoal/wood fired smokers. Instead of using chips in the smoke box you can get a tube or maze for pellets though and use those to generate smoke and get a pretty good smoke profile.

Being a coed school that still has a lower enrollment than X and T, I would be more likely to give them an exception than X then. That said, even my much smaller Tomcat's have backup qb's ready to step in and run the offense at any time if needed, so I still believe any large school should have multiple qb's ready to play. In other words any school in the larger classes shouldn't have a cop out when they lose a game because a key player was...

As far as Manual goes, what is their roster size? I would imagine it should be relatively large given that they are a 6A school, so it makes me curious as to why they are cancelling JV games.

I agree on all points, schools the size of X and T should never have an issue finding a backup qb and frankly not having someone ready to step up if the starting qb is injured falls back on the coaches dropping the ball. With all of the athletes they have, surely they have more than one player that can throw the ball and run an offense. The coaches should have those kids ready to run the offense at any given time, because in reality injuries are...

As always this should be a great game, as well as atmosphere. I'll hold off on my prediction for now, but I will say Ashland looked really solid last night, much better than they did at this point last season. Outside of the personal fouls, they have improved in every other aspect of the game. Brandt, Bryant and Pittman are some names you'll hear a lot of throughout this game that you didn't hear last year. Brandt looks great at WR and if he...
