  1. Brian Woeste is the new head coach for the Pandas. He served as an assistant to Dave Gronotte for six years from 2014 through 2019. https://linknky.com/sports/soccer/2023/05/25/notre-dame-hires-former-assistant-to-lead-four-time-state-champion-soccer-program/
  2. Nope. Conner hit 21 of 27 free throws and Anna Hamilton made Conner's lone triple of the game. Kelsee Simpson scored 19 and Hamilton finished with 16.
  3. I know that Helmers missed the postseason last year because of concussions. She told Coach Kordes she was not enjoying it anymore. I do not like to speculate so there's not much more that I can say. But like VoR said, it is not uncommon to see high school athletes pass on high school sports and focus on college sports.
  4. This is a shock. Prep Volleyball had the 6-4 Sydney Helmers listed as the second-best player in Kentucky. I don't know the situation. But I hope she's okay. https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/preps/kentucky/2022/08/16/kentucky-high-school-volleyball-assumption-without-texas-commit-sydney-helmers/65405953007/
  5. Okay. So he has only been two places? I want to make sure he receives recognition for the KHSAA's all-time winningest coaches.
  6. Leslie and Jenna said they will split the head coaching duties. But HC and AHC will be printed when they are identified in stories to avoid confusion. I had a great time meeting them last week.
  7. Bracken County is definitely a spirited bunch. I hate that the game got heated some in the third quarter. But I am glad I saw the Polar Bears play this year. Coach Adam Reed is definitely passionate. He gave a great interview after the game. Campbell County had its chances to win, but could not seal the deal. The Camels will be back next year losing only two seniors.
  8. Does anyone have a score from this game? It is the only NKY score I am missing.
  9. I have her at 35th all-time on the list the KHSAA put out. Is there another person that has 400 or more wins that’s not on that list?
  10. Hello Everyone. I do not know what has been said to other people. But Highlands AD Wes Caldwell told me the plan is to have a new head coach hired by Jan. 1 with some flexibility should a good candidate come along later in the process. http://www.fortthomasmatters.com/2020/12/highlands-hopes-to-have-new-head-coach.html One thing I think we all can agree upon is the returning players and classes behind them need to stay together. Parents and players alike that I have spoken with can't say it enough. Again, I can only say so much on here. But please feel free to PM me anytime.
  11. The KHSAA schedule has been corrected. Brian Weinrich confirmed the Scott game is at Highlands.
  12. Hang in there Bluebird supporters. I know these last couple seasons have been tough to watch. After the loss to Conner, someone posted, "Is this program going to be a powerhouse ever again?" on another site. I was sitting with JOAT at a girls basketball game last month and wondered the same thing. I honestly thought the 2019 squad would build off the uptick from the 2018 season, but for different reasons, it did not happen. Why's that? People can have their opinions on it. You can always vent to me privately if you want. I'll gladly listen. I still believe it will be a matter of not "if" this program will become a state power again, but when? In the meantime, supporters can be proud of the combined swimming and diving state championship
  13. I personally do not like the current format because I feel the best teams should have the chance to play each other in later rounds. But like it has been said, no system is perfect.
