  1. Technically, he's not a 4 year starter. He started in the Playoffs his Freshman year after the Freshman season had completed. That said, its very rare to even have a 3 year starting QB at Beechwood.
  2. There are many on here that don't put them in the top 5 and NOBODY that I have talked to about 2015 Baseball has mentioned them in Top of the Region. Which is stupid IMO. I don't think they are going to play the respect card, but it also seems like they aren't getting the respect that others would get in the same position. Just my observations. Obviously I'm with you on this.
  3. Looking forward to getting back to regularly attending Beechwood Games. After many years of work travel, I have taken a new job that is only 15% travel instead of the other way around. Sad as it may seem to some, missing Beechwood Football and Baseball was a major factor in my decision. 2nd to missing my family of course. Go TIGERS! Edit: Forgot my predictions. My Top 4 - Only because there are many that would take 5 and I don't want to think. Beechwood (Because if I didn't pick them, you know I have been hacked!) Conner (They will surprise people) Highlands (Seem to get it done) Cov Cath (Its Coach Krumps and I always believe he can do it)
  4. I think you will see Blaise and Craddock step into that role. Arlo seems like he is able to motivate a willing and capable player into stepping up.
  5. Beechwood FB prospered under eye of Tiger coach Yeagle
  6. You may want to read through this and the other threads on the game. Haven't seen anyone claim that the Refs were the difference. Guru referenced someone saying it, but haven't seen anything here. Congrats to the Frankfort. The Panthers deserved the win.
  7. Why don't you answer OSD's question? What makes them the "Most Talented Coaching Staff"? Or do we just have to take your word for it ?
  8. You clearly don't know what you are talking about. Those on the inside know the real story. The suspensions were for show and would not have happened if he thought there was any chance of losing that game last year. If he thought he could have swept it under the rug, I can assure you the brooms would have been out and moving swiftly. Save your praise for the parents who pointed it out and would not drop it. He's just not the strong Moral leader you think he is. I'm not saying he's a bad guy and I do think he genuinely cares for the kids, but don't hold him up high like that. Myself and many other players, parents and fans know better.
  9. Something people haven't mentioned is that Beechwood is looking to replace the worn out turf. To do that, you need Alumni money. Happy Alumni make for more free flowing cash. Unhappy ones have rather tight wallets. Even at a public school, when the people with the money want change, change happens.
  10. Personally, I don't think Rash needs to go, but he needs to make changes in his staff. First, Hergott has to go. He has got to be one of the worst play callers, oops "offensive coordinators" around. Time for him to go. Line Coaches... Something different needs to be done there. D1 type Lineman don't come along too often in a small school program, so you better learn to coach the guys you have and get the most from them. D1 and Pro blocking schemes do not work. Who was the line coach for Yeagle? is he available, I say bring him back. And just for the heck of it, get a few more off the sidelines. Do you really need 15 coaches watching the game from the sidelines. Give them a job or get them off the sideline.
  11. The Refs and #44 teamed up to beat the tigers tonight. I think it was certainly a factor, but the Refs were NOT the difference.
  12. Auto Correct changed "OUR" to "ARE" and "They're" to "There" or "Their"? If so, then I would throw the phone away, it's making you look foolish. Well that and other things are. I'm really just harassing you because I know proper grammatical rules and sometimes my brain will do that as well. I often notice it about 5 minutes after the Edit button has disappeared btw... I just read a resume for a position with a Six Figure salary and the guy used ARE instead or OUR at least 3 times and there and their interchangably and incorrect many times. Sad thing is, he's so good technically, I will have to overlook that. He also managed to get through 6 years of college education. In my opinion, just too much reliance on Spell Check and Auto Correct. We have gotten lazy and far to casual about our communication.
  13. I was looking through the Articles looking for this week's update and discovered that I hadn't even read last week's Tiger update from EOT. I fear that Beechwood has gone way too much the other way and still does not have the balanced offense to beat Mayfield. Well, let me clarify... They don't have the balanced play calling. They certainly have the players with the ability. There's seems to be very little planning for what they are going to do and Zero half-time adjustments. Overall, the play calling often rarely seems to fit the game situation. ie. When you have a Two TD lead against a good team, don't force the football down the field 3 times in a row. Try mixing in some runs to establish some control. 20 and 30 yard pass attempts look like desperation and make me question my what my eyes are seeing on the scoreboard. At a minimum, it uses up clock and best case, it provides a balanced attack and keeps you in control.
  14. Let's just call it the UK#1Fan backlash. They are voting for who they want to win, not who they really believe will win. I do think this will be a good game and will be surprised if it's easy for Simon Kenton. I expect the game to be in contention in the 4th Quarter.
  15. I get it. Extortion was a strong word, but it's what Mexitucky described. "Either move it or we won't play. Unfortunately, there's no light version of "Extortion." I think the school is foolish for moving it. Especially when it's clear other Catholic schools in the diocese don't even follow the rule/suggestion. It's another self-imposed thing. Mostly I'm pissed because with all my work travels this is generally the one game I can make. I will miss it for the first time in a long time and I was looking forward to it. I know for fact that attendance will be affected. Almost everyone I know that doesn't have kids on the team will not be going and would have been there for a night game. Heck, a few that I asked, I was the one breaking the news to them about the noon game. A couple of folks were planning to have a great day of H.S. football with some bar time in-between. Conner/CCH will be the draw Saturday afternoon and Beechwood will have 25% less fans. Again, like so many said: It's not going to change and it is what it is. I'll get over it. Back to the topic... Tigers by 10 - 31 21.
