  1. CAL is TOUGH, thats about all I can say about that team. Mayfield hasn't faced a team of that caliber this season, CAL would easily beat the teams that Mayfield struggled with. I haven't seen lines like that on any 6A team that we have played in years, the closest was DeSales last year. Typically in HS football a team will have a big D line but it will be slow, not on this CAL team, big and fast, and Mayfield's team was no slouch in the speed dept. I haven't seen Danville play but I am picking a dogfight at the very least with CAL winning it by at least 1 td or more.
  2. Yeah, the officiating was actually pretty on spot last night. Mayfield was beat in the trenches, Arnett was running for his life all night long. We just simply got whipped by the defense of CAL. Wright was the best athlete on the field Desales Dad, I agree, he is going to be something special, and he's only a sophmore. Great job Mayfield on getting to this point, nothing to be ashamed of and congratulations to CAL, on to play your first state championship, its a very special accomplishment.
  3. After watching more film of Wright, there is no way he is faster than Trajon Bright.
  4. All I keep hearing about is Wright, the other back CAL has is decent but one player on a team is not gonna stop Mayfield. I know CAL has some decent receivers with some good height, but the running game is the bread and butter of CAL, be it from the wildcat or other formations and I like Mayfield's chances against that.
  5. Yeah, he's a senior, thankfully he's just missing the next game so he would get to play in the championship should we make it that far.
  6. Yeah, I can't see it, he leans in with his shoulder and knocks the kid down, happens all the time. You can see him (#4) throwing his hands in the air at the end.
  7. http://www.mayfieldcardinals.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/questionablehit.mp4 This is the best I could find, the play is at the top, he leads with the shoulder.
  8. So much for keeping that under wraps, lol.
  9. In situations like this, I wouldn't want any other coach than coach Dew figuring this out.
  10. From what I am seeing so far Wright is a better defensive player while Bright is the better offensive player. Gonna be a real treat to watch these guys!!
