10 Good
  1. The QB from Cooper is a very good player from the few games I saw him play and has a bright future. From what I heard though the Cooper QB got hurt in their last game against Campbell County and will not be playing this game.
  2. That's a nice compliment for Barker then. Let's not forget Tom Brady kept losing his qb job in college to Drew Henson because of not looking great in college and I think Brady turned out ok. No I don't think Barker will be Brady, but that is silly to make a judgement based off of what ten plays.
  3. It's all about how teams matchup, and I think Ryle matches up well with Simon Kenton. I expect a higher scoring game with Ryle winning 31 to 28.
  4. I remember reading in a thread earlier this year in a NCC freshman thread that a person wasnt happy in a game that was only 26 to 0. So this looks bad but From looking at the box score it seemed like Beechwood did all their work in the first half and there is nothing wrong with that imo. They are just a very good football team.
  5. Interesting. So you are saying if it Ryle doesn't have the turnovers they win? However you don't take into account that you can say the same about Cooper. Couldn't be said if Cooper doesn't give up a few big kick returns that set up Ryle scores, or if they blocked better to prevent their field goal from being blocked, or if they didn't throw an interception, or if their starting RB doesn't get hurt in the first quarter then Cooper wins by a bigger score? So seems to me both teams had things happen in that game that they would love to have back, but you seem to act like only one team had things go wrong. Both teams had things go wrong, but Cooper ended up making more plays to make up for it. It was two good teams that played last week. Just like this game will be two good teams that play this week in Ryle and Conner. Its high school football both teams will make mistakes, but it is about limiting them and then also making plays of their own when opportunities present themselves. Whoever does that will win this week, just like how it happened last week.
  6. If I calculated things right the Ryle and Conner game basically means nothing unless Ryle loses then they automatically are the three seed. If they beat Conner they could be at best the two or even three seed still. It all comes down to the Cooper Conner game for the final standings. If Cooper wins they are the one seed. However even if Conner loses to Ryle they would still be the one seed if they beat Cooper. Conner in a tiebreaker scenario with three teams would get the one seed because of wins over Lloyd and Scott who have alot of wins and if the beat Cooper that would be another team with alot of wins they beat. So in a tiebreaker scenario Conner will win the one seed. Which is why the Cooper Conner game will be for the one seed no matter how the Conner Ryle game goes. Ryle would need to beat both Conner and Simon Kenton to maybe pass Cooper for the 2 seed in a three way tie situation. The quick answer is the Conner and Cooper game will determine the one seed in the district. So that should be another great exciting game.
  7. Its very simple. Cooper and Ryle honestly play many of the same teams. However the reason why people are talking about the schedule right now is, because currently Cooper is the best team Ryle has played so far this year. So while Ryle is 6 and 0 and Cooper is 4 and 2. Cooper is the best team Ryle has seen so far. While Cooper does have two losses, but a case could be made that both of those teams they lost to could be better than Ryle or at worst equal to Ryle. Meaning Cooper even though they have lost, have seen two other really good teams that are equal to or better than Ryle, while this is Ryle's toughest game they have played so far. I personally don't think the records mean anything or strength of schedule so far means anything when these two teams play this week. Ryle being 6 and 0 doesn't mean they will win, and Cooper playing a tougher schedule so far doesn't mean they will win. It is two good football teams playing night, and it could go either way.
  8. I attended that game last year and the better team won last year plain and simple. Ryle didn't show anything to make it look like they would win even if England played more than the 15 snaps he played. Cooper that game had the majority of their starters also making their first varsity start ever and still won. Now this year is a new year, and Ryle added a top notch QB to their team. So this should be a good game to watch. No matter what fans of both sides should avoid saying to much after this game, because these two teams very easily see each other again in the playoffs and that game the loser's season would be over. I will try to attend this game, because it should be a good one. It's nice having two very good schools in the same area.
  9. I attended this game and heard the same thing. It is a shame to hear that there are talented players that decided not to play. However if they don't want to be a part of a team, then a team can't worry about them and no reason to talk about them. From listening to people in the stands, tonight's result was better than a scrimmage these two teams apparently had in 8th grade last year even with those players who chose not to play. So sounds like the young jags will be fine with the young men who decided to play. This was a fun game to watch and both teams played hard. It was also a game of neither team being able to finish off drives. Cooper had the ball inside Ryle's 30 four times and came up short. Ryle had the ball in the red zone a few other times and only got one touchdown to show for it. Good defense by both teams to make drives stall. I am not sure who Cooper plays next. However I believe Ryle will be playing Highlands and CovCath soon. I definitely will try to make it out for those games, they should be good ones.
  10. Final from yesterday's freshman game. Cooper is now I believe 2 and 3 and Boone County I believe is 2 and 2.
  11. You would have thought one would have had learn their lesson last year, about making comments in a Cooper Scrimmage. Seemed like the best players in the stands comments at last years Dixie/Cooper scrimmage really seemed to back fire on you, considering the result of both Dixie/SK games. So maybe should let the games play out before commenting to much.
  12. Definitely easier. The ultimate goal is to win a State Championship, and with that being the goal the path to win a State Championship is definitely easier. It seems if someone is to suggest otherwise is just trying to calm the talk on Beechwood being the heavy favorite to win it all now.
  13. I think Middle School football is a good thing. The only thing I don't like is how schools that don't have a middle school, or even a junior high are able to have a middle school team. In my mind it is almost like recruiting, because you can get kids in your program early from other areas then, learn the system and build friendships with other teammates and so it much more likely that player would want to definitely stay then at that school for high school.
