10 Good
  1. Interesting list to say the least - can truly say this list is skewed! good thing about making projections - it gives you talking material.
  2. Agree that Skylar Potter, 6'3', wing, Warren Central, is top 10 in the 2018 class. That's an easy call. Jarius Key, is a top 10 athlete but doesn't have the skill set for a top 15 ranking. Stephon Franklin is top 15 but needs to make conditioning a top priority to move up.
  3. Western Ky Elite 16 U Red went 3 - 2 at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest. 15 U Red went 1 - 2. Overall, a good weekend but not a great basketball weekend. Visiting the Roberto Clemente statue in front of PNC was a highlight of the trip.
  4. I understand its a labeled "free for all" in recruiting players for AAU teams. The issues are two fold: first, the players & parents are escalating the recruiting process by entertaining the engagement. Second, please take any of my players because if they don't want to play in my program then you can have them. You will never win with those type of kids & parents. However, once they say 'no' - coaches / programs should leave them alone. Continued recruiting is being disrespectful and that could lead to future issues down the road. If coaches & programs are in the AAU circuit for the right reasons then all this other stuff should stop. Keep the kids first and everyone wins regardless of what the scoreboard says! Coach Rico Rosado, Western Kentucky Elite..... As you can tell, I believe in transparency and a CODE!

  11. I could not find a 4th Region so with my limited knowledge I will throw some names out there to get the feedback started: Darrell Carrier - Bristow - now would be Warren East Jim McDaniel - Allen County - Scottsville Tony Key - Russellville Bubba Wells - Russellville ( I believe - I know his brother excelled at Todd Co.) Someone off the 68 Glasgow team J P Blevins - Metcalfe County Brandon Stockton - Glasgow Josh Carrier - Bowling Green Jerome Gumm - Barren County ( Sr. year only, transfer in)
  12. Congrats to the Ville - great accomplishment, enjoy it! Shout-out to the other Ky teams that made a great showing at Nationals!
  13. There is and there will always be a population that have talented sons / daughters and realize that their current school system is either not competitive enough, exposing them enough or advancing their skill set enough to meet their expectations. Be it good or bad, parents are parents! Parents and players transfer for two basic reasons: going to Rupp or obtaining a college scholarship. I am sure academics, social outlets, or other social variables may skew the data but simply in KY high school basketball it is about playing in Rupp or playing at the next level. Is it fair - probably not , but as parents we all want the best for our child so that probably makes it fair or worth the scrutiny. Sometimes the transfer decision works out and sometimes it doesn't.
  14. Agree with the decreased attendance from the elite teams and total team entries in each age division. However, I did see some lower level D 1, couple of D 2, and a lot of NAIA coaches present. That part was a positive. Next week will bring the attention back to the Commonwealth and the city of Louisville.
