  1. So we can all be exposed to the war crime that is Tony Bennett-style basketball?
  2. Agreed. The NCAA really needs to address portal issues because it's creating massive issues in terms of the postseason for football and basketball.
  3. They should've punched a ticket in 2018 and 2021 but lost winnable games in the Conference USA tournament final. In 2021 they melted down and blew a big lead against North Texas with less than 2 minutes to go. Those losses, along with one other conference tournament final loss, made Rick Stansbury the only WKU coach to never take the team to the NCAA Tournament.
  4. Feels good to be going back after the disappointments of the Stansbury years. Unfortunately CUSA is so weak the Tops won't get higher than a 15 seed.
  5. I don't think Stackhouse is a bad coach. His players played hard but he found it tough to recruit consistently. I think he just wasn't a good fit for Vandy, which already faces a lot of challenges in the SEC to begin with.
  6. I have to say I'm fascinated by this idea. Wonder if its a template for what the KHSAA wants to do in other regions?
  7. I've heard that UK could try to take advantage of Louisville's athletic department budget crunch and possible uncertainty of where ACC dissolution would leave the team. But yeah, I think that's a longshot candidate. If I were Barnhart, though, I'd still make a call to gauge any interest. Be dumb not to.
  8. Rumors I've heard so far: -Matthew Mitchell getting his old job back -Louisville coach Jeff Walz -Grand Canyon coach Molly Miller -Duke coach Kara Lawson -Transy coach Juli Fulks
  9. The best suggestion I've seen on here for using the RPI for the state tournament would be to use it for your top 4 seeds and put them in the bracket as such and then blind draw the rest. I'm not saying that's perfect and RPI has flaws that need to be worked out but it COULD theoretically be a way to save the best two teams for the final. But again, no sure thing.
  10. Yeah, I don't disagree but I will say that this also sends a soft signal of defeat that won't really do much to get people excited so that the schedule can be filled with another game. I get that the Ads aren't in good shape right now - for reasons that have been documented here - but I still hate seeing this. I also wonder if part of the motivation is Boyle taking the Ads talent via transfers and Danville not caring for that? Maybe, like has been suggested, Danville can fill it with another team in the region. But it still won't pack the same punch. The Ads and Boyle will play in other sports but it just won't be the same.....
  11. Yet another blow to Danville athletics. I know the games haven't been competitive in recent years because of the turmoil but I don't see how this is really a net positive for the community long-term or reviving the program.
  12. Congrats to coach Ryan Young. I think this is the first time he'll be head coach in a region tournament?
  13. I've long said that using a computer would take the human element out of all kinds of district maps/pairings, whether in sports or elsewhere.
